I know a lot of us are already busy putting together our baby's room or what will be their living space. There are so many products out there now that people insists you "Just have to have"! With all these choices and decisions of what to get we often forget simple things. Here is a list I found on the What To Expect website that shows us what they call 8 Surprising Nursery Essentials. Check it out if you have time, you might see something you forgot. Also feel free to share some of your own nursery "essentials" with the rest of us.

I could not live without my carrier and my bouncy seat. Both godsends.

I agree Shawna, I considered getting a changing table at first. But then realized I would probably never use it. Plus the awesome 5 in 1 bassinet I got actually converts to a changing table in a matter of seconds, and has storage below it for diapers, wipes, etc, so I figure I will stick with that. Even after he is no longer sleeping in the bassinet I can leave it put together and use the changing table part of it if I want.

I haven't read the list but one thing that is NOT essential is a changing table! Either change them on the floor or put a changing pad on a dresser. We used ours for a couple weeks then it became nothing but a storage space (which we actually needed, but still....)
