Hello everyone. I am doing this south beach diet, and am in need of a bit of support. I know we have a lot of mothers to be, and I would assume your not on a diet. (ok the diet of eating EVERYTHING you crave lol). So I wondered if there were any mothers with bebes on diets. If so what diet are you on and your weight goal (if youd like to share). :) I def need support. Where do you get yours from? Forums, family, etc?

Hey -

I am also doing South Beach Diet...well kinda...I am not following their crazy recipes, but I am following the Phases (no carbs, low carbs) - This coming tuesday will be 2 weeks and as of today (Saturday) I am down 9 lbs. (not too shabby seeing as this week is "water weight gain week" and I had two "bad" days AND no exercise!!!).

I was overweight when I found out I was pg with dd and was about to start a diet then...that nixed those plans. So after gaining 32 lbs with the baby and only losing 18 at the hospital, I am still in desperate need of some loss! I also need to tone VERY BADLY! My goal is to lose at least 30lbs, but honestly if I still weigh what I do now, but fit into a smaller size (currently staring at a 16) then I am happy with that. I would be more confortable at my old 11/12 self...no matter what the scale actually said. I have always been a bit more muscular and therefore NEVER looked like I weighed as much as the scale said. So the actual pounds aren't the issue.

I wouldn't say that I crave carbs anymore. I am just missing the convenience of heating up corn dogs or ordering pizza. Oh and french fries, did I mention how I miss fries???

"No carbs" is hard to come by in fast food unless you are eating a salad and I can only eat so much salad! I think that is the only problem I have run into. Its been fairly easy so far. I think I am going to stay on phase 1 for another week...just to get a few more lbs off before I re-introduce "good carbs".

How are you doing so far? How long have you been doing the SBD?

What are your goals?

Email me if you would rather -

Talk later - Be strong! It will all be worth it in the end!!!!!

Well...first I would like to say that anyone who goes on a diet needs a good pat on the back. It takes a lot of sacrifice and dedication to cut anything out of their normal food intake. So anyone on a diet I bow before you.

But these quick diets of cutting out sugar, carbs...or whatever else it out there..is it really that great? My big bro was on the no carbs. He lost 80 pounds..and looked awesome for about 6 months. Then slowly he started eating carbs again. Now he is back to his old size and he feels like a failure when it comes to food which in turn makes him eat even more. For the rest of your life you will be on this diet. That doesn`t seem to be very fair or healthy. Plus it never really deals with the really problem..the addiction of sugar or carbs.

Yes..I am thin. But that doesn`t make my eating habits any better then yours. I just never liked food much (really!). I have cravings of fries, chocolate and chips..and then I eat them. But I eat small portions and stay fit. I am not sure what I am trying to say. I am not trying to say that I am skinny and you aren`t. You are probably more healthy then I am. I just worry about women who are over weight and are looking for a quick fix..and instead should be looking at themselves on the inside to see where the real problem is. I believe that weight loss is a life change. I believe when you go on these diets..it still shows to us and yourself that you are still have a food problem. I don`t have answers to this...I am just really concerned about womens health issues.

On the other hand..if these diets will work for you...then you should do it. I have no right to tell another person what they are doing is bad..especially in an area I have no experience in. So...I shall keep my mouth shut. But good luck to all the ladies...I hope you get the results you want and it lasts!!
