Friday QOTD

Woohoo! It's Friday! Sorry no QOTD for Thursday, I was a little busy and my creative outlets were lacking. So I thought of something for today! I was thinking about how different all of our backgrounds are, how many different mixtures of history my daughter is, so that led me to the questions for today!

1. What is your ethnic background? Not like caucasian. But for example, I'm irish, german, cherokee indian, english and I think polish. :)

2. How does your tradition/lifestyle today reflect that of your ancestors? We have a tradition on New Years Day to boil cabbage with a penny in it (I can't remember if its the past year or new year penny in it). We take the penny out before eating of course! ;) I also have green eyes to reflect the irish in me. Lastly, this is my husband's family tradition, they are polish. We have a traditional polish dinner for Christmas Eve. We have pickled herring (yes pray for me), pickle soup, butter beans, saurkraut, and some other stuff. They also break off wafers and tell each other how proud they are of each other for the last year. Then you take a peice of the other person's wafer.

I'm done drilling you guys for the day! Today is Friday and I'm headed to Vermont on Sunday!

I am German, English, Swedish, irish, & a tiny bit of Indian.

I can't think of anything we really do as a tradition other than our family traditions like getting together on certain dates, and celebrating the holidays.
