BOY! His name is going to be Richard Golden, but we'll call him Ricky.

So, we didn't get the girl we wanted, but we are both surpringly thrilled. I've had the feeling it's been a boy the whole time, plus I am carrying low and smalI.

I know he will hold the key to my heart (mommy's boy) and daddy's mini-me. Plus, now knowing that DH said he would have been happy being done if it was a girl. I'll be okay if the next one is a boy too because then they can be brothers or if it's a girl because he can have a sister.

Okay, so the clothes aren't as cute, but DH loves the toys. Plus, I'm all about green and orange. And.. I'll have to get those pee cloths, so he doesn't pee on me, LOL.

Me about 20 weeks...

Awww. I love the pic! The US pictures are so much better now. I'm glad that the school announcement went well. I'm still telling people at work, most of my close coworkers saw it on FB, but I'm not showing and a lot of the other staff won't know for a while. I'm sure everyone at work will probably throw you a shower!

DH mentioned something about a family name for our baby. He said he figured I'd want to consider a name from my side of the family as well. I guess I hadn't really considered it much. I've started looking through a name book from a coworker, but haven't fallen in love with any names yet. I think I'm afraid if I fall in love with a name DH will hate it. He hasn't looked at the book yet. He wants to wait to look until we know what we're having. I want a back up name though just in case they are wrong about the gender. It doesn't happen often, but I want a back up just in case!

Thanks ladies! Both the first and middle name are family names on DH's side. My husband's first name is Richard and so is his dad, but my husband goes my his middle name (he's not a junior).  That's why we're calling him Ricky (I love) because I'm not a huge fan of Richard, but I love that it's a family name and also to avoid confusion of having three Richards in the same house since we live in two family house. We gave our son the middle name Golden, which is DH's great-grandpa and great uncle's name.

We already bought a green camouflage onezie. E- I'll have to check out those super hero ones! DH didn't want to buy anything baby related until after our shower, which we're throwing, but won't be until the first Saturday in November. How can I resist though, especially now that I know what we're having! I've already invested a lot of money in maternity clothes, but now all I need are tops (maybe a couple more jeans). I want to get some nursing tops, too that will be practical afterward.

I officially announced my pregnancy to the school yesterday by wearing a blue t-shirt with baby on board printed on the belly with baby's name and due date. DH made it, but it didn't end up being that big, so when we introduced ourselves during open house after I talked about my teaching experience I said, "As most of you can tell I am pregnant and we just found out we're having a boy! He's due right around New Year's. " Everyone clapped and I got a lot of hugs and congrats from the parents. The teachers and parents threw the kindergarten teacher two different baby showers last year, so maybe they'll do the same for me. They did that for me when I got married.

Ricky...

This is the sign we made for the shirt to announce the pregnancy to my school...

Thanks for the congrats ladies!

Dina, yeah I've heard boys are easier too. DH is very excited even though we both wanted a girl because now he can look in the toy aisle for our son, too rather than just browsing and remincing at toys from his childhood, LOL! Plus, it's like DH said "Boys always are close to their moms no matter how old they get." Looking forward to that and all the green since it's my favorite color. Both grandpas are excited! So are the grandmas, but they were hoping for a girl too. I'd even feel good if the next one was a boy to see him with his brother, but I do eventually want a girl (God willing)!

I'll have to attach pictures of the ultrasound. I thought I've had a bump from 17 weeks on, but everyone around me says that it came out the past week, so I officially look pregnant!  I can't wait until you find out what you're having!

Yay for team blue. I'm so excited that you have the name picked out and everything! I agree that the clothes aren't as cute, but I've also heard boys are easier, don't know if it's true or not. Glad everything is going well and the US looked good!
