had my u/s yesterday. and i know that since my hormones are entirely out of whack my thoughts are jumbled as well. but BD and I had our hearts set on a boy (I even thought I could feel it being a boy in my bones) so when the sonographer said 'girl' both our hearts dropped.

Kim,

(((HUGS))) I can relate to your feeling (except the opposite!). I always wanted a girl, but my DH's family is boy heavy so I "knew" I would have a boy. Sure enough, u/s tech said boy. The idea definitely grew on me with time, and I was ultimately so happy to just have a healthy, full-term baby (we had complications with a near loss at 22 weeks). This time around, I'm hoping for another boy so that my little boy has a brother. But, I have a feeling it is a girl and I will be a bit disappointed if it is.

I think that with time you will get over your feelings of disappointment and begin to become excited for your little girl. As soon as you meet her, your heart will melt and be hers forever. There is just nothing like that moment.
