I am 22 weeks today with a little boy. =)
I had a bit of a scare last Thursday and thought I would share. This is my first pregnancy and so I've been reading on what to expect and pretty much everything else I can get my greedy little hands on. haha.
Well, all day Thursday my little man (who normally is REALLY active) hadn't moved much at all; then around 4pm I needed to go to the bathroom and (I'm really sorry if this is gross lol) when I walked down the hallway towards the bathroom, I felt damp. I went in the bathroom and looked at my backside in the mirror and it was wet. My first thought was that I had peed myself and hadn't noticed (it wasn't a lot of liquid). So I went to the bathroom, but it didn't look or smell like I had wet myself.
I raced back to my office and called my doctor, while trying not to start crying. She told me that I could go ahead and come in and my doctor would take a look and make sure things were okay. I tried not to cry and I prayed all the way to my doctor's; they ushered me right in and started checking me out. (It's the same doctor that I've been going to since I was 18, so they know me there and rallied around me as soon as I walked in the door). The nurse that took my blood pressure was trying to calm me down; she took it once and then laughed a little and said "I need you to take a few breaths and calm down because I don't want to write THAT number in your chart".
Well, it turns out that it was just normal fluid and sweat; I was SO afraid that I was leaking amniotic fluid. My husband met me at my doctor's and was holding my hand the entire time. I have never in my life been that scared. But it was one thing that I didn't come across when I was reading all of those books. I read that of course you will have more fluids down there, but I had no idea that it would go through my jeans!
Has anyone else experienced anything like that?
