Maternity Coats- Do You Really Need One?

The recent freezing cold weather has many mamas-to-be wondering whether they should invest in a maternity coat. Here's what we think: If you've only got a few weeks to go when you hit the can't-button-your-coat mark, j ust bundle up underneath and wear your regular coat, or borrow your hubby's parka. (No one expects you to look fashion-forward when you're almost 40 weeks pregnant!) But if you need both hands to count the weeks until your due date, you'll probably want to make the investment.

What are you wearing for a coat these days? Have you invested in a maternity coat or are you being a bit creative? :)

I was just thinking about this! I am 17 weeks now and can still get my coat buttoned so I am thinking I will be okay if I don't get one. We only have a few weeks of winter left and my hubby's coat has plenty of room in it so I doubt I will get one for this baby.

My maternity coat has been worth every penny! I bought mine and have worn it all through December through now. There's no way that my coat would have fit and I knew with being due in mid Feb that I would need something more than my husband's coat to get me through. It just depends on when you are due and if you have someone's coat you can borrow to get you through the weather. I'm sure everyone's needs are different depending on their situation, but I love my maternity coat!

I don't think they are necessary at all, and a waste of money. Even if you are weeks away from your due date, you only have to deal with a couple of weeks of extremely cold weather. I got so hot when I was pregnant didn't even like to wear a coat at all!

I wore my husband's coat the last two months of pregnancy. I did get a lot of compliments on it because it was one of those outdoor snow print coats.
