I have been lucky, I am 23 weeks today and have actually only gained a couple pounds. I was concerned about not gaining weight at first, but my doctor assured me at my last appointment that everything was going well, the baby was developing right on target and is doing well, so there is no need to stress about it. The weight will come eventually, I am just glad to have made it this far without gaining a bunch of excess weight. If anything being pregnant has greatly improved my eating choices. I have cut out almost all sweets and soda, and I always stop and think before I have something if it is something I really want my baby to have to. It also helps that almost all of my cravings have been fresh fruits and veggies.

And as far as Jessica Simpson goes, she has said to numerous media outlets now that she is not worrying about what she eats and is just giving into every craving and will worry about the extra weight after she gives birth. I think this is silly and not very responsible. We only need about 300-500 additional calories a day while pregnant, so I don't look at pregnancy as an eating free for all like some women do.
