hello!! so im not a first time pregnant woman or a first time mom...when i give birth to my son in late december-it will make baby #3 for me. but ive been wanting to write this post to ease some minds out there cuz i remember when i was pregnant with my oldest and i wasnt very big the whole 9 months. actually im not very big right now. im 6 months along and at my last doctors appointment, i hadnt gained any weight. the women i work with are making noises about it-like i dont even look pregnant, that maybe im not as far along as i think, that maybe the baby isnt healthy...thats what i ran up against when i was pregnant with my oldest. i gained the "required" 25 pounds. but i was only 125 pounds when i got i didnt look very big at 150 pounds...there was 1 guy in particular that freaked me out-he told me that his sister was huge all 3 times she gave birth and because im not very big-there must be something wrong with the baby. DONT TELL A FIRST TIME MOM THAT!!! i told my doctor that and he laughed at me and told me that hes full of it...that every woman is different, every pregnancy is different and the baby is fine. she was born full term at 7 lbs., 2.5 2nd was born also full term at 7 lbs., 11 ounces...didnt get very big with her either. this one i started at 155 pounds-which is why i think the scale shows i didnt gain anything yet. there is nothing wrong with the baby-my ultrasound showed no abnormalities...and i know hes fine-hes very guessing he probably will be over 8 pounds...sooooo all you ladies that arent showing, that arent very big, that might be worried that something is up with the baby-ask your doctor to reassure your mind but dont worry too much. cuz everyone is different and every pregnancy is different. and if youre not very big-it happens. im sure your babies will be fine-just like my older 2...:smileyhappy:

just like everything else in life, one person is going to be different from the next. we don't all start out the same size, so why on earth would we all look the same while pregnant?!
i started out at about 112 lbs, size 0-2. i'm almost 24 weeks and i've gained about 6lbs (in addition to gaining back what i lost in the beginning). baby is measuring spot on, no issues at all. i eat plenty, and am keeping myself healthy. just because we don't pack on 20lbs the moment we get our BFP doesn't mean we're not pregnant or the baby isn't growing properly! if my doctor says i'm doing fine, i'm going to listen to him before considering advice from random people.

i'm not going to use this pregnancy as an excuse to eat a tub of ice cream every night (as good as ice cream usually sounds!!...). the healthier i am during the pregnancy, the healthier i'll be for my baby once he's born.

I have a friend, who is at the hospital delivering right now, who did not show at all until she was 7 months pregnant.  And another who was huge, but you seriously could not tell from the back!  I doubt I'll get very big, but I'm skinny to begin with so I'm already starting to show at 15 weeks...and am running out of clothes that fit!  Lol!  It's definitely different for everyone! :-)

You would not believe some of the comments I've had to endure! I've been told that my baby is starving, you don't even look pregnant from the back, and are you sure you should be going to the gym!!!! I bite my tongue and tell people that I have not changed my diet since becoming pregnant other then eliminating the no no's, the baby is in my belly not my back, legs, or arms, and exercise is highly recommended during healthy pregnancies.

hello!! yes i know some hubby is even making noises about my gaining weight or lack thereof...i havent changed my diet either-the only thing i really eliminated is lunchmeat-and i didnt eat a whole lot of that before hand anyway!! ive also had to deal with this one particular woman who refused to help me with these heavy boxes in the beginning of my pregnancy...i guess because i wasnt waddling-i wasnt pregnant in her eyes. im sorry but i refuse to lift 50+ pounds boxes. when i did it with my oldest dd, i ended up spotting with back pain afterward. i do lift them now-but im not going to take a risk like that in the beginning. now shes one of them that says maybe im not as far along as i me, i look huge-when im naked in the shower anyway-lol. youre at the same weight i was when i got pregnant with number 2 and yeah-throughout the whole 9 months, i had to endure the "are you sure everythings okay" comments. and people do make comments when women are bigger too-my sister had to endure 9 months of "are you sure theres only 1 in there??" cuz she was quite large with her last child...people need to learn to shoosh!! LOL

I went through this as well! I did not start to show even a little bit until around 20 weeks, and even then I could easily hide it until I was around 30 weeks. I only gained about 30 pounds the whole pregnancy and it was all in the middle and end of the third trimester. So I always got comments about how small I was and how I needed to eat (as if I wasn't!) It would get on my nerves a lot.

Thanks for the advice. It's good to hear that from someone who knows. I feel like that won't be me... I'm feeling like I'm getting a belly already. I'm sorry that someone would say your baby must not be healthy! Some people need to learn when to keep their mouth shut!
