Symptoms stronger at 12 weeks than earlier??

So I am almost through my 12th week. I had my 12 wk apt this past Monday, unfortunately the Dr couldnt find the heart beat with the doppler, but said not to be alarmed as my uterus could still have been behind my pubic bone. I will probably to in next week to try again, just for peace of mind.

Anyways, so far I've been very lucky, no M/S aside from a few queasy days around weeks 8/9/.Never actually vomitting, my breasts only became sore around weeks 9/10 and my exhaustion has somewhat improved over the last few weeks as well. Although I've noticed that around the middle of week 11 I became somewhat nauseas again, off and on. Not as cosntant as it was for those few days in the earlier weeks, but when it hits me it is definitly stronger. Also my breasts have become so sore now I can't sleep on my chest. It's agonizing. And  Iam a stomach sleeper, it has been very hard for me to sleep on my side so now I can't sleep well at all. If I do get comfortable and end up waking up in the night, I usually can't fall back asleep for at least an hour if at all. It seems as though week 11 and this past week certain symptoms I had have intensified greatly. I thought things usually subsided around this point? Not returned.Whats up with that? I was almost in tears last night when I got up for a peanut butter cookie. I had been asleep on my front and when I lifted myself up, to get out of bed my chest hurt so bad it was unlike anything I'd felt before.

How did you and your doctor determine how far along you were?  It sounds to me like you might not be as far along as you thought and I'm just mentioning this because it happened to me!  So dissapointing!  But, we orginally calculated my due date using LMP, however, we could not hear the HB either at 12 weeks so my doc sent me in for an US.  At the US (which was a week later) the baby was measured at 11 weeks - meaning that at my 12 week appointment, I was only 10 weeks along.  Not only that, but I too was sickest during what I thought were my 12th and 13th weeks - come to find out, they were my 10th and 11th weeks!  So, that might be the case.  Also, the body is a crazy thing and pregnancy is far from an exact science.  Plenty of ladies fall outside of the statistical parameters and everything is perfectly fine.  I hope you start to feel better soon.  I'm at 16 weeks now and feeling better every week - so there's hope!

There's no hard and fast rule unfortunately about how long morning sickness can last. I've heard of it lasting way longer for some women than others. I think for most women it starts getting better around 12 weeks but not for everyone. I hope that they have better luck next week, have they considered doing an U/S just to check everything? I think the fact that you're having symptoms is a good thing and maybe it was just too early and maybe like Kristy said you're not actually as far along as they had thought. I know it's never fun to have your due date pushed back, but it might explain why they couldn't find the heart tones. I hope things get better and your M/S will go away quickly! I also can't lay on my stomach, I'm luckily not a stomach sleeper but a friend tried to give me a massage and it was way too painful to lay on my chest for that long.

Thanks for the replies. I asked for an ultrasound but the Dr said it isn't needed. She just told me to come back in 4 weeks and then she'd definitly be able to hear it. But I am going back next week and giving the doppler another shot as I cannot wait another month not knowing. I know for sure my LMP was June 4/12. But I guess it all depends on when I actually ovulated?

I actually did not have any "morning sickness" until my 2nd trimester. I would feel nauseous in the 1st, but didn't actually get sick until I was about 14-15 weeks. It only lasted a couple weeks. and then I felt much better. :smileywink:
