For most of us who are or have been pregnant (and I'm in the latter camp, so let's not start any rumors), it's the only time in our lives when we feel a little like a celebrity. Passersby smile at us. Strangers want to hold the door. And if we really have to, we can cut in line for the bathroom. But just like famous folks have to put up with their share of difficulties (Gwyneth Paltrow told USA Today the Met Ball was soooo hot and crowded this year), pregnant women have to put up with some common annoyances too. Ours come in the form of people.

The thing that disturbed me most was the comment "Oh my gosh, how much further do you have..." when I had weeks to go. It made me feel like I was absolutely huge.

For me it was the people that want to tell you every little thing that went wrong during their pregnancy and labor/delivery. Especially for a first-time mom, that can be stinking scary! Keep it to yourself people!

I got told, "Wow! You've blossomed!" and my ever favorite, "I know you're having a girl. You know how I know? Because they say girls steal their mother's beauty and I can see you're having a problem with acne." Yup. From a cashier. Left that store in tears.

I am hoping that it will happen less with this pregnancy, mostly because my older kids are off doing their own things and not my ever-constant companions they were during my previous pregnancies.  I was a young breeder, 5 kids by 27.  I would take them to the grocery store, or park or darn near anywhere and people would ask me if they were all mine Or if I knew what caused it.  My smart mouth always had a quick retort for them like....no they aren't all mine, they were on sale in aisle 8, thought I'd pick up some extras.  Or, nope but they've been following me for years HELP, or yes I know what causes it, but that's how I pay the bills.

Basically you can't listen to idiots, because they are idiots.

Some old guy approached me at the gas station the other day and said "So, how far along are you? 20 weeks?"  Really? (I'm 14 weeks today)

Another girl just put her hand on my stomach and said "When will it get hard?" Dang people! I gained a few, so what I'm a little soft right now. lol geesh.
