My best friend is going to watch dd until family come to town to take over. But she doesn't have any kids yet so its probably a little easier for her. In the case she can't we have some friends who will help out. They have two themselves and both work a lot, so I hope it doesn't come to that. Its kind of stressful thinking of all the what ifs of labor when you have another little one to worry about.
We really have no idea yet. I do not trust my mother, DH mother hates me and I wouldn't leave my son with her anyhow. Dexters step mom will probably be the one who drives me in since he can't drive and she has no kids and no kid experience. Ugh I don't wanna think about it =p
Oh good..I'm not the only one who doesn't know what they are going to do. I think I better get a "call" list together next week so that hopefully SOMEONE can help. I just wish I had a best friend locally to help, since I do not have family. Oh well...we'll figure it out.
My last 2 labors started in the evening, and went into the night, my children slept through the first one, and we woke up the older 3 for the last one...we didn't have anyone for childcare, they just stayed asleep in their beds, and I was here laboring, along with Dh and his parents, and the midwife (for the last birth - the one before was unassisted)...it worked out well!
My parents will be watching Kira. Luckily I'm having a planned C/S, but even if I weren't I'm sure it would all still work out the same. Also, my mom works in a school so we won't have to worry about anyone missing work. If some absolutely really weird emergency came up we could probably drop her off at our neighbors for awhile (they watch her for us for an hour or two at a time occasionally). But they are like in their 70s so I try not to ask too much of them.

I'm lucky this time around, because our oldest daughter is 15, so she can hold down the fort for a few hours.
When my little guy was born, my girls were 12 (almost 13) and 10, and I went to the hospital at 1 AM.
When I had my second I had secured that my Aunt would watch my son.

It really, truly does make a difference to have older children!
