I will turn 35 in January. I also am high risk due to MTHFR and so i am on daily injections of blood thinner. I'm not sure what extra testing I will have, beyond the normal. Had full bloodwork and std testing, and pap smear so far. I will also do the sequential screen at 12-14 weeks, but I did this with all of my other pregnancies. I don't plan on anything invasive, even though I am older. I also have more ultrasounds than most, but that is because of my blood clotting issue.

I also have another reason I am high risk, not just my age, because I had a brain condition/surgery 10 years ago....so not only do I have the extra ultrasounds & other testing, I will have to see a neurologist, too....my OBGYN seems to think that I will do just fine, but she has extra apponitments set up for me, to cover all basis.

If you recovered from your brain surgery I wouldn't think that would affect it either. I also see a maternal fetal medicine specialist for most of my ultrasounds. (I think it is a peri-neonatologist too)

I'm 39, so I guess I'll be having more testing. I just won't do anything that is invasive. I'm sure I'll talk more about it with my doctor at my next appointment in 10 days.

So all this AMA testing is not new for you....then I may be sending you messages, once I start freaking out when they do either the CVS test or amnio, or 'whatever' test they'll test me positive for 'something'!

I will be 35 in December, so I am AMA. This is my first (and probably last). I've been placed on Prometrium as my progesterone levels are apparently low, which puts me at risk of miscarriage. I have an ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow and am hoping all goes well. It would be very re-assuring to see a heartbeat.
