The NST is really simple. They put a few monitors on you that check for contractions and see how your baby's heart is beating. I had to do it twice a week when I was pregnant with Brandon. I liked the NSTs because you get to relax for a while. I just hope that your boss's attitude doesn't stress you out every time you have to go in. It's not that the stressed out feeling will hurt your baby or your test results, so don't worry about that. I just hope that you'll be able to relax and focus on the baby. It's a great feeling when you can do that. I was lucky that I left for maternity leave right before the NSTs started. It used to crack me up that he would kick the monitors. This baby would probably hide from the monitors. =)

I go twice a week for nsts...it's kind of a waste of time since there are three and nobody holds still, so the strip is mostly blank...and it takes foreverrrrrrr. They monitor the baby for 20 mins and you wear a contraction monitor as well.

Too bad your boss is giving you such grief. I will also have to start weekly NSTs in May. Luckily usually have one day off during the week so I can work around my work schdule, but it's a pain to go in so often.

I have also been told that I will do NSTs every week starting at 35/36 weeks. This is all due to being 40. The older the mommy the larger the chance of placenta malfunction. Since I am also a fluffy mommy I do not put stock in the results. The external monitor is not very good on me. I will follow doctors orders though. It is a nice chance to relax. Lol. It is not convenient at the end of the school year.

I will have NSTs starting in 2 weeks (2 weeks after last appointment). Had them with others (GD for me) but this dr. wants ultrasounds every week too which seems a bit much to me. I think after the next visit it's two weeks to the next and then every week (starting at 33 weeks).

I am sorry your boss is giving you a hard time, but good news on the GD test. I too will be starting weekkly NSTs soon. With such an active kid I wonder how well they will track him.
