Went into labor @ 34 week appt!!!

I had my 34 week MW appt yesterday. They did the usual, weight (gained 1 lb) BP (124/76) urine dip ( alot of blood and protien again...sigh) belly measure (41 weeks) so the usual outcomes. Not too much to be concerned about. She then asked how ive been feeling and if ive been having any contractions and I told her Im having them at different intervals all day everyday and that some have been pretty regular and consistant and uncomfortable. She then stressed to me that she's concerned about pre-term labor cause of a few things and wanted me to start weekly NST's and asked if I had time to go to L&D right away and do one. I said sure thinking we would be in and out quickly.... boy was I wrong!!!!

They hooked me up and Tank is doing great but I was contracting every 3-4 min, HARD, so we bumped things up a notch since I was in labor. They checked my urine and blood for any infections that could be causing the contractions but everything was perfect and clear. No UTI, bladder infection, kidney infection, BV or anything. They also did a fetal fabrinectin (sp) it came back neg. so they hooked me up to an IV and pumped 2 bags of fluid into me, which helped a little but I was still contracting. So they gave me some meds to try and get my uterus to relax and stop contracting and after a while it finally worked. Im on strict pelvic and bed rest. She wants me on 100% bedrest but knows Im a mom so she wants me off my feet as much as possible. They want at least 2 more weeks for Tank to cook then they wont stop my labor if it comes again after that. So just 2 more weeks at least I gotta give them. The longer Tank stays inside me the better. Now just gonna relax today, I am so sore from all the contractions. I guess its good timing that Conor is outta town till Sat so Ill be able to rest more with just 1 kid to chase after ;-p

I'm glad you had an appointment that day and that they were able to stop your labor. Two weeks will be here before you know it. Rest as much as you can.

Wow, 2 weeks is no time at all! I feel so far behind being an end of month due date. I am glad they were able to get things under control and I hope you get some rest (I know it is easier said than done)

Wow! You are so lucky your Dr. was so on top of things and able to prevent you from going into full blown labor! It sounds like with some rest, Tank will make it til at least 36 weeks. Good luck to you both :)
