We found out with our first baby (a boy) and will be finding out again (hopefully!) Neither one of us could imagine not finding out if the u/s provides the info. In fact, one of the first things DH asked me after I got the positive HPT was "so, when do we get to find out if it's a boy or a girl?"
As far as excitement on the delivery day goes, the first thing I said when they plopped DS on my chest was "Oh, it's a baby" as if I expected it to be something else
. So, yeah, I can't see how the surprise of learning the gender could make birthing day any more amazing.

I have found out every time. But, with this being my LAST pregnancy and already having everything in boy and girl because of the twins, we will do everything in our power to NOT find out. If it means turning away from the screen at the anatomy u/s, then so be it. I am 101% determined to have this one be a surprise. We have three of each, so either way it will be a tiebreaker.
