I definately worry about this! i love coffee, chocolate and red wine...all not good for pregnancy!! I cut out wine and am down to 1- 11/2 cups of a coffee in the morning. As for the chocolate that will be tough! I'm a working Mom and for some reason mid-day I am craving chocolate like noone's busineess!! One day at a time.... :)
I drink a lot of pepsi and eat a lot of chocolate... I'm not worried about it, I don't believe it truly has an affect on whether or not you may miscarry.
I LOVED my diet coke and drank it like water, but have replaced it with Diet Rite Zero and water for the duration. Mainly because if something happened I'd always wonder, so better to have the peace of mind.
I have cut out my morning coffee, mostly because I also quit smoking (obviously), and just don't want the coffee anymore. I'm also switching from my daily Mt. Dew to Sprite or Sierra Mist. I don't really need the caffeine, so it's not an issue for me. Chocolate, however, is another story. Honestly though, I never even thought about the caffeine in chocolate during my first pregnancy!
I too LOVE Caffine! Being that I wake up for work at 4:20 every morning it's been hard to completely cut caffine out of my life. I have limited it to 1 or 2 sodas and maybe 1 cup of coffee. I have completely eliminated Starbucks and 5 hour energy drinks and I think I'm good with this at this time!
I will probably still have my pop, but may switch it to a diet rootbeer or diet sprite to eliminate the caffeine. Chocolate...that's not going anywhere! Ha! :) But I currently don't eat chocolate on a regular basis, so should be fine. Coffee, I'm not a big coffee drinker, so shouldn't have any trouble not having any.
This decision is out of my hands at the moment.. every time i try to drink coffee, or soda i get sick.. so none for me.. and ive completly lost my taste for chocolate.. which normaly im a coffee drinking, soda gulping, chocoholic...
I have no intentions of cutting out my caffeine. I drink quite a bit of diet mt dew and always have. My dr says the only thing it may do is cause a lower birth weight in my baby and honestly that couldn't hurt.
With my first I never drank much caffeinated pop and ended up with GD and still had a normal pregnancy. With my second I drank lots of it and had my 8+lb baby at 37weeks. With me third I drank my normal amount of diet mtn dew in addition to a daily cup of Cappucino and I had my 8 1/2lb baby at 39 weeks.
