Will you deliver your baby with an OB or a Midwife?

In hospital, at home, or in a birthing center?

I'll have a midwife at a hospital. She works at an OBGYN office with a few doctors and a nurse practitioner. If we have major problems, she'll probably make me check in with the docs. I hemoraged badly after birth, so I have to be at a hospital.

My first baby - I was high risk. and

We made an appointment today for a birthing center that has CNM's. I am so excited. I didn't even know this place existed until I found it online a couple of days ago. Neither my husband nor I were comfortable with using a CPM.

I need help with this decision! With my son, I had a "midwife" who wasn't at all what I wanted. She didn't do anything I would have expected a midwife to do during labor and I had a very horrible birth experience. Too many drugs. I really really want to do natural this time, would love a birth center but I'm scared because I do not handle pain well. Right now I have an OB but if she seems to push interventions and such, I'll switch to a midwife.

I of course say go to the birth center! lol... I'm a pusher of "stay away from hospitals!"
They pain SUCKS, but the worst part is transition which generally lasts about 20 contractions and then you can push, so it's really not all that bad! You CAN do it if you really want it! :)

I threw up last time during transition, I believe? It was horrible. I hate being such a baby!

Thanks for the advice guys!

Sadly I have no insurance so I don't really have a choice.
