I never have before, but those pocket diapers are so cute that I think I would like to try them this time around. My problem is that my husband doesn't want me to- he doesn't want the same washer washing diapers and his clothes. :o)

I made my husband read some stuff on the internet because I *hate* trying to educate him because it turns into an argument (he's a lawyer - ugh). Also, I just told him he was welcome to wash his own clothes elsewhere! Ha! He eventually got as into it as I was and now he's willing to tell anyone how great and easy they are!

My DH and I will try to cloth diaper. My mom tried with me,but found it to be too much laundry. I have been eyeing the Softbums diapers which can be used from 6lbs to 35lbs. Have you heard anything about them? I will probably use prefolds for the first few weeks with snappi if the Softbums are too big. since you don't really go out much during those first few weeks do you think I would need some NB covers too? I was planning on just the prefold and change him/her every two hours or so whenever I felt him/ her wet.

I think a few covers are always a good idea.

We tried to cloth diaper from the start with my sin, but his circumcision took over 2 weeks to heal and they had us use a ton of Vaseline until it was healed. We used disposable until it was healed. So if this baby is a girl we will only use cloth. I made the mistake of committing to one type of diaper with him and I can't use artificial fiber diapers on him so I had to sell them and start over.

I CD'd my DS on and off from 2months-14months. It was too expensive in apartments and caused a bad rash on DS no matter what we did.

We cd'd both our dd's from the day we came home, the only difference was with number 2 i quickly switched to disposables at night for her comfort and it kept rashes at bay because she didn't have wet cloth against her skin.

Proud Mom to Annika (4), Jamie (3), and 4 angels. Anxiously awaiting Baby #3!

I considered it with DD last time around before deciding to stay with disposables. This time around we might try, something to look into more for the next few months! It'd be nice to save money.
