HCG levels too high?

Hi Ladies,

Has anyone had their HCG levels tested? I had mine done at 14dpo and it was at 250 then again at 18dpo and it was 1390, is that considered high? I know they are supposed to double every couple of days and Dr said they looked great. I have my 1st appt tomorrow, but I'm anxious to know of anyone else had theirs done and what are their levels. I don't want to be surprised with twins. We conceived naturally with no fertility treatments, but there is a history of fraternal twins in my moms family.

Thanks!

I posted a question thinking mine was high for 13 dpo (at 175 its much higher than I've ever had at 14 dpo and I have 2 kids). I posted my question on the ttc board also and had a reply from someone that she had a level of 300 at 14 dpo and just one baby in there. Normal range is very wide, so you can't tell just from betas. It could be one strong sticky bean or two. The only way to know for sure is an u/s.

At least you are getting an early u/s. I don't know when I'll get mine. I've never had to wait past 6w before, but I always had an RE involved.

DH and I have joked that when we tried to have our last one, we would end up with twins. Now that this will be the last, the joke is not so funny. Boy would that be a surprise.

Good luck.

I'm certain of my ovulation date. Do you think it's silly to ask my dr if it could be twins? I already have a list of 15 questions and this is not my first child. I just feel a little silly asking.

I would ask. That seems high. Nothing wrong with asking.
