Miserable with a cold/allergies

My packet from the doctor's office said the only thing I can use before 12 weeks is a saline rinse, which really isn't helping. Even the hot shower this morning didn't help much. I hate being congested, and that I have Afrin in the bathroom just taunting me.lol. Must be a pregnancy thing because I had the same thing when I was pregnant in Nov. (I had a miscarriage). I never get sick and now I've been sick 2x in just a few months and both times I am pregnant. So anyone else miserable with cold/allergies or have been since they got pregnant?

I am getting over a bad sinus infection. I had one actually beginning of March and finished the antibiotic the day before I tested. I am on day 6 of another round. I get them alot, but this one is bad. I had a fever and upper respiratory infection to accompany it. Just watch it to make sure you don't need to go to the doc. I haven't had my first official ob appt, but when my fever reached 102 that night I called the on-call ob. He told me I could have benadryl or robitussin for my cough. I didn't take either as my main concern was the fever. I just took tylenol until I saw my reg doctor.

Hope you feel better soon :)

Have you tried a Neti-pot?

My first pregnancy symptom is always constant post nasal drip.

I had what I thought was allergy related nasal issues and was taking Zyrtec, then about a week later I found out I pregnant and decided to not take any more.

I have a cold now too. Fortunately, so far this pregnancy, only this one cold. With my 1st pregnancy, I was sick pretty much the entire 1st and 2nd trimesters until I stopped going to work. I guess I was picking up a lot of germs from the public transportation and office environment. The one advantage I've noticed with this cold is that the smells haven't been bothering me as much because of the congestion. That seems to have helped my morning sickness today. I guess that's what it is.

I have horrible congestion right now to the point it keeps me from sleeping. I saw my allergy specialist on Monday and my ob today. They both agreed I can use afrin with that three day limit, my flonase and zyrtec, in addition to the sinus rinse.

Wow, nice tiffa2005. I was going to call the doctor this morning because I just kept getting worse last night and had such a hard time getting to sleep. But apparently after I finally fell asleep I turned the corner because I feel better than I did yesterday. Still feel terrible, but hopefully I'm on my way back to normal. At least showers and even the nasal rinse works a little better today.

I'm at home sick today with what I'm feeling like is a sinus infection. I only remember one mild cold with DD and it was later on. I've taken one Tylenol and saline drops a couple times. Ugh..so miserable.
