If you already have a pediatrician for your older child and plan to use the same one for your newborn, do you still schedule a prenatal visit with the doctor?

I think I might not be understanding the question, so let me know if I'm off :smileywink:

Are you asking if you schedule an appointment with the pediatrician before the baby is born? If that's it, no... we don't. I had my kids in for a well child visit a few weeks ago and I talked to him about the new baby. He said to call as soon as the baby is born and set an appointment to come in after we get back from the hospital.

Yes, that was the question. I went in a week ago to get DD's blister checked and the receptionist asked me if I was coming in for a prenatal visit and I said "no, for my daughter." I asked her if I had to make a prenatal visit and she said, "not right now," so that left me confused as to whether I'm supposed to stop in for a prenatal visit before the baby arrives. And I didn't ask her any further questions because they had me filling out new paperwork for the 1000th time. I didn't think so either, but just wanted to check with everyone else.

That's so strange! I've never heard of a pediatrician seeing the baby before the birth! Maybe he's just a really thorough guy! LoL!

I didn't get it either. I thought they meant to interview the pediatrician, but I assumed you did that only if you were looking for a new pediatrician.

I think she was confused! Lol! I wouldn't assume you'd need to interview a pediatrician you already know :smileyvery-happy:

I have only let the pediatrician know in advance that we were having another baby. That's all my office wanted.
