Interesting story about the materniT 21 test, I actually participated in the study they did to see if that test actually worked when I had my amnio with my last pregnancy.
I had blood drawn with the NT, but this is different. For the NT blood work, they are looking at the free hcg and papp-a levels. The materniT 21 test actually looks at fetal DNA in the mom's blood and just became available last October.
My doctor's office said the NT appointment would consist of an ultrasound followed by a blood test. I wonder if that is customary with the NT, or if the blood test you are talking about is different than the one they will do with the NT? Did you have blood drawn with your NT?
I had the NT scan with both of my last two pgs. This time I plan to ask about the MaterniT 21 test. It's a blood test and from what I've found online it seems to be more accurate, with a higher detection rate and lower false positive rate.
Okay, since you know what a vanishing twin is, I can admit I had one. My first born had a twin. The sac was there at our first u/s at 9 weeks, but no baby. It's easier to just tell people I miscarried the second baby. My son is perfectly healthy, always has been. My second son, who was twinless, was the one born with a mild birth defect that required surgery to fix.

I'm 29 and will be 30 in May, so I don't meet the age limit where they strongly recommend getting one.
