Hello!

I found out last Friday that I was pregnant after getting the HSG procedure done! YAY! That should put me at 4 weeks 4 days today.

I had an ectopic pregnancy in January, so the doctor wants to watch me closely. I went in for blood work

My doctor had me tested at 4w0d (14dpo) and it was at 250, I was tested again at 4w4d (18dpo) and it was 1390 then again at my first appt at 5w0d (21dpo) and that one came back at 4715. I go back today to the Dr so I can get an actual due date. These are based on when I believe I oed. My dr said at my 5w appointment that I looked like 4.5 w, thats why my numbers may be a little higher. Hcg levels double every couple of days. Your dr may ask you to test again soon to make sure that they are doubling.

My numbers at 3w3d (10 dpo) were 12.5 ish and at 4w2d (16 dpo) were a little over 300. They are more looking for the doubling time than the actual numbers. I have read that anything from 18 to 7,340 is normal. If you are having an early ultrasound they will normally wait until your levels are around 2,000- 3,000 so they can actually see something. You will also want to pay attention to your progesterone levels since those are indictive of if your body will carry the baby until the placenta takes over. For those you want anything from 9-47 at 5-6 weeks.

I had multiple ivf cycles and multiple m/c in addition to my 2 prior successful pgs. My REs all hoped to see hcg levels of 50 or higher at 14 days past retrieval, which is the equivalent of 14 dpo. The all agreed that doubling time was most important though. My pg with my DD (my first child), my level had a doubling time of 49 hours to the second test and 38 to the third, so it more than made up for the slower start. My pgs that didn't work out all missed the doubling time goal of 48 hours by a lot more than just 1 hour. Comparing the numbers across different pgs is a lot less reliable. My last m/c and my pg with DD, started out with almost identical first numbers (within about 2 points), however it took the unsuccessful pg 96 hrs to double.

Good luck!

My number was 69 at 12-13 DPO but quadrupled from 15 at 10-11 dpo. Sounds better than mine!

  • My number was 245 at 15dpo and went to 1075 at 18dpo so your number of 300 sounds pretty good to me.
