Hello Everyone!

I am excited to be joining this board!

The short story -
I have PCOS and am due on December 6th, 2013. There's no December 2013 Expecting Group yet, so I thought I would join you, as there's always the chance I could have a November baby too.

The Long Story - I joined ivillage in 1999 when it was parentsplace, this is when my ttc journey began. I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome aka PCOS. I ttc'ed from 1999 to 2007 with my ex-husband. We had one miscarriage at just after 4 weeks during that time.

Since that time I have done nothing to prevent anything from happening with my soon to be fiance. We had a spontaneous pregnancy in February 2012 but lost it within the 4th week as well.

We started seeing a RE fertility specialist in October and started clomid again. This past cycle I had a HSG and my doctor decided to do a lining check mid cycle. My lining wasnt thick enough for her liking at day 13, so she had me come back a week later on day 20. We found a 24mm and 26mm follie waiting to explode. She sent me home with an ovidril trigger needle to take later that night and progesterone suppositories to take each night after ovulation!

My first hcg was done on 12dpo and my #'s came back as 14.4. My RE's receptionist called and told me they feared it was a chemical pregnancy because the # was so low and to stop my progesterone and wait for a miscarriage. I was shocked, devistated and heart broken.

I began reading up about chemical pregnancies and everything I read said you can't base it on one hcg test, you need a second to confirm. My RE was gone on vacation as of that day, so I couldn't get ahold of them.

I ended up calling my family doctor and booked a second hcg. This was on thursday and Friday and Monday were Holidays for Easter weekend, so I couldn't get in until Tuesday April 2nd. My results did not come back until the 3rd and they were 274, which was more than doubling every 48 hour intervals. We were thrilled!!!!

I didn't feel we were out of the woods yet though because I had started spotting which turned into a light flow of bleeding. Once again we were on edge! I got in for a 3rd hcg on April 4th, 48 hours after the last one. Much to my relief the numbers went up to 676, more than doubling again.

Sooooooooooooo I am hoping it is safe to announce that we are expecting :) So excited but still trying to be very cautious, because anything can happen this early on. I am just 5 weeks 1 day aproximately. I've never made it to 5 weeks before though, so we're hoping the progesterone suppositories are making all the difference in the world this time.

My RE is back from vacation on Monday April 8th, she will sure get a shock when I call and book an appointment ;)

Congratulations to everyone else on this board as well. Looking forward to getting to know you :)
