I'm conscious of it for sure. I'm not exactly at my fighting weight now, so I'd very much not like to end up even more in the hole at the end. Especially because my working out has been so heavily curtailed by this pregnancy so far.

That being said, I'm not killing myself over it. Just trying to be very conscious of eating healthy & not indulging every craving I have. Just because McDonalds would really hit the spot on a random Tuesday, doesn't mean I need to eat it! It's not been hard. I work, so I bring an assortment of fruit, raw veggies, yogurt & cereal with me each day. Since that's all I have, that's all I can eat! Then my husband and I have a pretty healthy dinner most nights (we cook 5-6 nights a week.) If I feel like having a snack/sweet in lieu of the cocktail I'd normally have, I have it.

So far, at 15 weeks, I'm down 3-4 lbs from early on when I wasn't feeling great & haven't gained anything. I'm fine being there at this point.

I'm 16w2d & I'm still down a couple pounds from the start of this pregnancy. I'm trying to be conscious of it, but I'm not going to stress myself out over it either.

I'm finally up 4 lbs, but I was underweight to start. I think the article is a bit of a scare tactic, though - up 8 lbs at 16w doesn't sound like much; plus, it's not like you constantly increase your weight in even increments. I think we'll all have 'growth spurts' at different points, so monitoring and adjusting diet patterns here and there without obsessing over every pound gained is probably best imho.

Weight gain does not bother me much.

JM - I agree. I don't know anyone IRL who has had a child who actually gained a pound a week or anything like that. When my sister was pregnant, she would go a few weeks gaining nothing, then gain six all at once, then get yelled at, then go back to gaining nothing. She ended up at 27 lbs total, which was right on. Our bodies don't always follow the "rules."

This is my first pregnancy, and for some reason, I've had no morning sickness. Honestly, I feel obscenely blessed. I swear I really do! I've heard the horror stories and my heart goes out to all who have or are currently still dealing with it :( What I found out, however, is the fact that because of the morning sickness most get, weight LOSS is very common in the beginning. Um, not over here. I was on appetite suppressants pre-pregnancy, so a cold-turkey cut off those in combination with a boyfriend firmly believing in the phrase, "What my babies want, my babies get," I've packed on 20 lbs. Yes, 20! Ugh, I feel horrible. I've taken NO belly pics-only a "before." All of my family and friends keep insisting that I'll regret if if I don't. I know it's true, but I've done the big "weight-loss" thing in my life before where I captured every week of THAT journey...so taking

DH wanted daily pics, too, but I told him if he wanted to see time lapse effect, he should watch a YouTube video of someone else. Lol. I felt bad about saying no - for about 30 seconds. :-P
