Stomach flu

I caught a virus from my daughter, with painful stomach cramps and vomiting.  If I skip a meal during pregnancy, I get really nauseous.  But, I can't keep anything down with this stupid flu.  And all the "sick people" foods (crackers, chicken soup) are not on my gallbladder diet.  I feel like I'm back in the first trimester and it sucks!  The scale has me down 36 1/2 pounds from the start of pregnancy.  Oh, and the constant vomiting and stomach cramps and dehydration are causing some really nasty contractions.  They only last about 30 seconds, so I know I'm not in labor, but they hurt so bad!

Oh, and my face is covered in a rash.  Tiny red spots everywhere.  They aren't raised up at all, so it's not hives or pimples, and they don't itch.  But my face looks ridiculous.  Not sure if it's a weird flu side effect or just another annoying problem to deal with.

Update: A google image search tells me that my face rash is Petechiae.  It's tiny micro bloodvessels bursting from throwing up too much.  Completely harmless, so that's one less thing to worry about.  Also, contractions are getting worse.  I can't stand up without getting them.  So I'm refusing to get up today except the bathroom.  I am NOT having this baby today.  Kids are with family, Dh is off for the weekend, so DH says I should just walk around and get it over with, lol, but I am not ready.

Feeling better today, but still can't keep much down.  The few sips needed to swallow Tylenol and Zofran are about all I can handle.  Did find out one perk to being dehydrated - I actually slept 6 hours without needing to go to the bathroom.

Hope you feel better soon! Maybe try popsicles? I've been freezing ginger ale and dr pepper to scrape off shavings with a metal spoon. Next best thing to a snowcone. Half-frozen ones taste like slushies. :-)

Thanks.  Contractions slowed down, still can't walk much without them starting again though.  We have a Sonic half a mile away, so I got a Powerade Slushie from there, but it's still to hard to hold down.  My daughter's stomach flu lasted 3 1/2 days, and this is day 3 for me, so it's got to be almost over.

That's a heck of a long stomach bug. I hope it's over soon! If not, you might want to consider at least going in and getting some fluids.

Next OB appointment is Wednesday.  If I still don't drink by then, I'm sure I'll get sent for an IV.  But I don't want to go in now.  ER won't see me this pregnant, and a labor & delivery visit is just so time consuming and boring.  Plus, they'll do a cervical check due to the contractions, and those hurt when baby hasn't dropped! I do not want to go through another check until I absolutely have to!
