Changing docs stinks!

I have had the same doctor of 6 of my kids and I LOVE him, but his office is a 45 minute drive and the hospital he delevers at is a 40 minutes drive. Problem is I have fast (like less than 3 hour labors and once a 15 minute labor). He does a sono at every appt. even to confirm pregnancy. I just adore him. He does do a lot of extra testing as I am rh negative and the genetic concerns. The second issue is my 10 month old has four 1 hour therapies a week, which would mean working around those and then like 3 hours of babysitting for my daughter for every appt. That doesn't seem fair to her. I did find a doctor right next door to my sons feeding clinic which is a five minute drive and average wait time is 15 minutes. Someone make me feel good about the change and assure me I'm doing it for the best! I'm making my first appt. for mid-march.

you have to do what works for your family...i think you are making the right decision ... and bankerswife i have to go the military hospital here...and they have a WONDERFUL maternity ward but i never have the same doctor! EVER! i hate that part but being military its free so i try not to complain...but whether im induced or it comes naturally i get who ever happens to be working that 12 hr shift!! even for all my check ups....i always have to explain everything over and over! because apparently they never read the darn file! lol

I'm in the process of switching doctors as well.

I'm switching this time, too. Mine is more that I want a more personalized experience, and not so much about proximity to me. The hospital is 6 miles away. I had a 6.5 hour labor with DS from water breaking to out (5.5 hours from first contraction).

You know, if you wind up not liking the first doctor, you can always change back. It's worth a shot.
