Hello I am new to this board. On Jan. 17th I lost my son Gabriel at 39 wks. He weighed 8 lbs. 13 oz. When he was born we did not know anything was wrong except that he was not crying. Finally after working on him for 1/2 and hour the doctor told us sorry but he could not save our baby and labeled him stillborn. After we got Gabriel's autopsy report back the cause seemed to be that my placenta and seperated abruptly. My husband and I have decided that we would like to start to try to concieve another baby. My question is how rare is what happened to me with Gabriel and I hope we will have a live happy baby next time. My doctor did tell me that next time I get pregnant I will be watched very carefully and will get stress tests and ultrasounds. Also he said they will induce me at 36 or 37 weeks. Have any of you had an experience like this and what are you thoughts. Thank you for taking time to read me ramble on.

I am very sorry for the loss of your son. Hopefully with good monitoring this will not happen to you again. I do not have any experience with abruption; my losses were related to cord problems. If you need any help at all just let us know. Welcome to the board. ((((HUGS))))

Love, Robyn

Suzanna,

I also wish I had knowledge to offer. Perhaps you could ask your doctor to research the issue, and give you some statistics. I do agree with the others that monitoring your progress closely in a future pregnancy will be a very good thing.

Welcome, and I'm so very sorry for your loss.

Hugs,

Hi Suzanna, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I am afraid I cannot answer your questions, but I am sure some of the ladies here will be able to help you.

I too have a little girl of 2 years old, and I also lost my second, who was also a boy, in October 2002. He died as a result of a toxoplasmosis infection that I contracted. When is your little girl's birthday?

Lots of luck on your ttc-jouney, I hope your stay here is short!

Love & Hugs

Lou,

Thank you for your reply. I am sorry that we had to meet this way and you understand the pain of losing a baby. My daughter Abigail turned 2 on Dec. 20th. When is your daughter's birthday? How long have you been trying to have another baby? I hope that neither of us has to wait very long before we are expecting. Thank you for your encouragement.

Oh Suzanna, that is so special, my little girl also turned 2 on 20 December!!!!! She was born at 5.50 am on 20 december 2000. We have twins! ;-)

I lost my little son Lodewijk on 25 October 2002 (but he was due on X-mas day - so another December baby!). It took me until mid January to get my first AF. So from that time we have been seriously ttc (I wanted to before, but obviously couldn't as my cycle hadn't gone back to normal yet). This is now my 3rd try, and I so hope we don't have to wait so long ... and as a special bonus, should we conceive this month, we'd be expecting our 3rd December baby. If only life was fair, I'm sure that's what would happen!

I wish you every bit of good luck, Suzanna,

Hugs & love

Lou,

That is so amazing that our daughters have the same birthday! I hope you have good luck this month w/ ttc. My AF returned early march and I am waiting for it to return any day now. Once it returns I plan on starting to chart my cycle so we can know the best time to concieve. I hope that works. Too bad we do not live close to each other so that our daughters could play together and we could talk more. So we will just have to get to know each other as well as we can through this board. I hope you have a good day.

Hi Suzanna,

Charting is a very good idea ... I have big hopes that we have been succesful this month. But AF isn't due till Saturday, so I have to wait a few more days. But I have seen that second line today, albeit a very light line ... how happy a silly little line can make you. Let's pray that it will stay this way!

Yes, wouldn't that be nice if our little girls could play together! Is yours showing any signs of terrible 2 behavious? Mine is .... ;-)

Good luck to you Suzanna, I really hope you will be succesful soon!

Hugs

Lou
