Anyone with experience renting DVC points?

Just poking around allears and found a link to a recommended site that rents DVC... priced it and it appears to be less than $100 more to stay in AKL in a studio than it is to stay at POP...I am super nervous about doing it though.

Sorry I cannot help as I am a DVC owner so do not need to rent. Good luck though!

I don't know if it's okay to post names or not.

It is Dave's that I have been looking into. Not entirely sure I can put my fears aside though to rent from a 3rd party that way though. I am sticking with POP for now but would love to hear about how renting works if you (or anyone) ever does it? Side note...do you usually purchase travel insurance? We never do but I most likely would with this too!

I think the only time I've ever bought travel insurance was when I went to the Dominican Republic during hurricane season, lol. With Disney, you can always change the date of your vacation up to a certain time period before it actually starts. But, if you have to buy plane tickets, etc., the travel insurance would be helpful, just in case.

Thanks Val! In my research I have kind of figured that the DVC owner does everything. Booking with David's you can do online check in but that is it...dining plan and such needs a month in advance to add on so they can contact the owner, who can then contact DVC to add it on. I will have to check what Passporters says, I have read the mousesavers stuff. I actually feel pretty comfortable with the process now but fear my timing may be off. In researching it appears that a number of rooms book at 10-11 months out and there is limited availability by now...we will probably stick with POP and go the DVC route in the future.
