Agreed - Disney is EXCELLENT for food intolerances/allergies! Quick service is just okay, but at least they do their best to accomodate. But sit-down restaurants seem to be great! (I can't wait to eat at more, with my gluten intolerance - we usually just do QS.)

I have to agree!!! If Anthony does not grow out of his dairy allergy then I will have a tough time vacationing elsewhere!!! Like Hilarie said...quick service is okay for what they offer but amazing (to me) at letting you know what is in things. When there is something they do not know the answer to, they bring out the recipe books and go through everything with you. Table service was simply outstanding to us!!! Not only did the chef come talk to me right away at the 7 restaurants we ate at but walked me through the menu or buffet and then asked questions about Anthony's likes and made things special for him. (ex. At Crystal Palace the chef asked if Anthony liked broccoli before telling me he couldn't have what was in the buffet line and when I said yes made some just for him...and this happened over and over!) AND Anthony was just over a year so they didn't even charge us I expected to pay because he clearly wasn't "sharing" my plate!

That's wonderful, Melissa, how they took care of him! It really is amazing how they go out of their way to make sure everyone can enjoy everything they offer :)

It was amazing Val!!! I was VERY impressed! DH and I have wondered if each of the table service restaurants has someone on hand at all times just to handle allergies, special requests, customer service table visits and such. The chefs were clearly busy but at every place something was brought just for him - dairy free cookies or ice cream, dairy free Mickey waffles, at O'hana he got his own skillet of specially made eggs, waffles and such to prevent any cross contamination from our skillet, at Chef Mickey's when the chef brought him Mickey waffles he added extra strawberries and grapes saying he knew little kids loved those fruits! I know we were not the only ones the chefs must have helped so it seems unreal that they could handle all that plus the kitchen without support if he was on his own running a busy kitchen.

I love hearing pixie dusted stories - but these are extra-special. As you said, I'm sure that this is how they treat all guests with allergies and that is absolutely amazing! Sets the bar very high for other resorts!
