Has anyone ever stayed at Fort Wilderness? What type of activities do you do? We are planning a family trip there next month.

We love Ft. Wilderness

  • there's a beach to play at (no swimming)

  • 2 pools - pretty plain, but most kids don't care

  • nightly outdoor movie

  • nightly sing along with chip & dale

  • boat to MK

  • pont rides

  • hay rides/carriage rentals

  • horesback riding (must be 9)

  • unfortunately the petting farm is no more

  • peacocks all over the grounds

  • open play areas

  • a few playgrounds

  • great walking and bike paths

  • shops

  • electric water parade each night around 945pm

  • being in nature - my girls love to just play outside and crash through the bushes or stop and look for bugs

Ok, the peacocks would be my only complaint about that place.

The peacocks are gone. They were rounded up and sent to the Animal Kingdom.

We used to have peacocks in the grounds where I went to school - they were noisy birds for sure - but the provided a welcome distraction from listening to the maths teacher LOL!

Hey, how are you? I cannot believe how big Aly is getting. Stop watering her!!!!! I am still around. Getting ready to plan a trip to the world next June. I just got to go to DL in June. I had a conference for work in San Diego and i couldnt be that close to Disney Land and not stop. I took my dd and we took an amtrak train to Anaheim and spent four days there. Guess where the conference is next year? Woooo Hoooo, Orlando. I love free trips. Well the Disney Part isnt free, but the travel part is cause my job pays for it. I really dont want to go in June (crowds and heat), but hey, i am sure they wont change the date just for me. I dont know where i am staying yet. Since DH wont be there, i certainly cant take our trailer to Fort Wilderness. I have been thinking about a cabin, but that really would depend on if anyone else is coming with us. Otherwise, I will probably do an All Stars room. DD wants to do a MK view at the contemporary. I dont know, it is rather expensive.
