help! ASMusic suite or Yacht Club room?

There are 5 of us, me and dh and three kids ages 9, 6 and 5. We have a family suite booked at ASMusic. However I just called and I could get a great deal on a room at the deluxe Yacht Club for only about $400 more. We would be going from the suite down to one room with 2 queens and a daybed. Two baths down to one. But going up in terms of value to deluxe. Big step up for the pools and grounds.

This is our first trip. We'd probably be happy with anything. But I'm leary of the bus rides (no rental car for us) to get to the parks. Being able to walk to epcot is attractive.

My kids arent nappers, but all five of us in one hotel room has been difficult in the past.

Help! WWYD?

Thanks so much.

Tough call! I just made reservations for late September, and I was sad that the code could not be used for a suite, since that is my favorite. We went with the cabin instead. I really, really enjoyed the ASM suite last year, even more than the deluxe resorts (for my family situation). However, I have not stayed at the Yacht Club, so I cannot comment on that one in particular.

How much time do you spend at the resort? Do you get a lot of use out of the pool and grounds? If yes, then you may want to consider the deluxe. If you spend the majority of your time at the parks, like we do.....I'll vote suite.

Honestly, you can't go wrong either way!

Keeping in mind that I'm a hard-core suite girl who refuses to share a hotel room with her preschooler and toddler, I'd still say to go with the YC room, if only based on the pool (Stormalong Bay is THE best pool on property) and location.

Well, as much as it doesn't seem to be the popular decision, we have decided to stay with the family suite in ASMusic and not take the room at the yacht club. It was difficult, but this is supposed to be a vacation. With the five of us in one room, I just know it won't be relaxing for me at all. It just doesn't work for us, the three kids get wild, jump all over the beds, don't wind down, and dh and i are stuck with no room and nothing to do but go to bed too. Having the two rooms in the suite will make such a huge difference, as well as having two baths. It will be nice to get everyone washed up twice as fast. We won't be stepping all over each other. We'll have plenty of room for our stuff. I won't feel like we have to 'clean up' so the housekeeper can just get in the room every day. Yes, the pool is amazing, but my kids are going to think the piano and guitar pools are pretty darn cool considering they haven't seen anything but a rectangle pool before! LOL!

This is our first trip so I don't know if we'll want to spend a lot of time by the pool or be on the go from dawn until dark. i just know that from our past experiences of being in a traditional room... it is NO fun for me and dh. We are very excited that the suite bedroom has a door that can be closed and we can have our own little quiet time (wink wink).

Thank you for all the perspectives. I have read a number of reviews online of the suites, and for families like mine (and Laurie's who responded!) the family suite is great. Maybe we kick it up a notch next time and try the deluxes!

I'm breathing a sigh of relief! I think you will be really happy with the space and the family atmosphere. There is definitely something to be said about having room to spread out. :)

Enjoy!!!
