I am reading about the new online check-in for Disney resorts but I'm wondering do you *have* to give a CC number to do this?

I don't remember having to leave a CC # last time we went as we declined charging priveleges.

No you don't have to leave a credit card on file.

You don't have to, you can just leave it blank.

I never do charging privileges on my room keys, however, we did have an issue when Mike tried to purchase internet (for work). Had to call them (but then had to call them 3 more times to deal with issues...last call was to ask for a refund...we were done trying to troubleshoot at midnight). Not all of the issues were to do with the not having CC added (just the first 2).

What does online check in accomplish? Dont you still have to check in at the front desk to get your key to the world card (if they still call it that)?

yes, but there is a separate line and it tends to move much faster.

I just learned something new about online check-in...something I had not experienced until this trip, but didn't know this was the problem until a couple weeks ago.

They don't have elevators at all??? UGH!

When I had them change our room, she told me, "We do have elevators". Well, here's the problem, you have to walk past many rooms to get to the elevators, then still have to walk to your room when you get off. Even though they have elevators, it is still excessive walking after we have been walking in the parks all day. And the only places to sit down in between are smoking areas (allergies). UGH! Because of the health issue, I am usually the pack mule carrying whatever bags we have...so I don't want to do the long walks either.

You still have to check in in person for online check-in, you just go to a different counter.

I'm just glad there was no one behind me in line because it took a while to take care of my request. The first 2 times we did online check-in, I had no problems whatsoever.

The one request I put in online was "ground level floor", but when making the reservation on the phone I put in 2 requests, "ground level floor" and "close to parking". We got neither of these on our original room assignment.
