Room sizes at AKL and other ?

We're leaving June 30 and have booked a deluxe poolview (I think that's what it's called) room at AKL as part of a package deal. There are 4 of us (2 adults, kids ages 10 and 12). We usually get two rooms or a suite when we travel, but this place is so darned expensive we decided to just get one room. My question is: will we kill one another by the end of the week? Is there some space to spread out a little?

Like all our vacations, this one isn't very planned. We just decided to go and are still researching it even though we have rooms, passes, and tickets. How far in advance do you need the ADRs? Is there still time or are we doomed to eat cheese and crackers in our room?

I have a few places picked out, but wouldn't mind some suggestions for any type of restaurant. This is our first trip to WDW, although DH and I grew up going to DL in Anaheim.

Thanks,

Ashley

Well... I leave for AKL on Wednesday, so I can let you know next week when we get about about the room sizes...

As for ADR's, I do recommend that if you are interested in eating at a TS restaurant, that you go ahead and get reservations--because I feel so bad for all the people I see turned away because they don't have reservations (more common at some restaurants than others, but is hard to see it happen anywhere)... It is easier to get them earlier out, but you may still find something because at this point some who have it all planned are changing their mind and looking for another time or place... therefore opening up another place...

Good Luck!

We stayed there in Nov and I thought the rooms were plenty large.

Thanks for replying and posting the photo. I'm going to ask for bunk beds, too--the kids will think that's fun. And we don't hang out in the room much either, so maybe we'll live. I just need a lot of personal space and down time, but I think I can send DH out to the pool with the kids and then hang out and read for an hour to recharge.

Your kids are adorable, BTW!

There's the balcony too - it's not very big (tiny really) but does add an extra dimension to the room. We sat out there quite a lot.

I would certainly try for some ADR's now, we are going in September and already some places we wanted are fully booked - although that is during the free dining period so not unexpected - better to book now and cancel when you get there if you change your mind than to have to wait hours in line or be turned away at restaurants.

We ate at Boma a few times while we were at AKL for sit down meals,(we all 3 myself, DH and then 7 yr old DD loved it) there is also a counter service place there (The Mara) with reasonable choices and a small snack bar by the pool.

Have fun at AKL
