Value hotel choice?

We're not really value people.  And we don't usually even stay at Disney hotels, as we feel the value is better elsewhere.  But, we're going in 2.5 weeks and it's actually CHEAPER to stay at a Disney Value than where we usually stay (weird).  And since we're no longer AP holders, we realized we have to pay to park at the parks - so that's an extra $15/day if we don't stay at Disney.  Gah!

So, good prices on All-Star Sports or Pop (only $25 more total for 3 nights).  Which would you recommend?  (We've never stayed at either, but we stayed at ASMovies one night, ages ago.)  Luckily, we won't be going back for naps anymore (woohoo!), but I do need to go to bed early, because I'm running the Princess Half Marathon on Sunday (super-early morning).  Any thoughts/recommendations??

Oh, and I should add that it's about $200 more (for 3 nights) to stay at CBR (also never stayed there).  Would it be worth it to upgrade?  My main motivator is price, but if it means better sleep or ability to eat breakfast in the room (microwaves??), I'd consider the upgrade.

I heard about the heat and humidity, sounded crazy to me!!! Too bad about your foot but it still is a huge accomplishment! My cousin ran and i thought all the characters on the way looked fun, not desire why but I never realized they made appearences on the race days.

Oh, sorry - just now saw these questions asking about the Princess Half!  It was just okay.  Way too crowded.  And hot.  (It was 68 with 98% humidity at 3:00 am when I left for the race.)  And my foot injury kicked into high gear about 6 miles in.  I almost cried (and did just plain stop for at least 5 minutes).  But, luckily I had more ibuprofen.  I could walk on it without screaming, so I did that for a few miles until the drugs kicked in.  Then I tried to run a bit, but still walked a lot to the end.  It was brutal.    :(   My biggest complaint (other than the foot) was the walkers - just so many of them.  And the roadway is narrow, so it's a TON of dodging.  It was rather disheartening, since I'm not a great runner to start out with...  (If someone started in the first couple of corrals, they probably had to deal with much less in the way of slow people in their way.  I was only in the 4th corral - of 18, I think - and it was still awful.)

So, I have been looking at pictures from the Princess half.  How was it?  Instead of a big family trip this summer we are going to stick close to home.  However, we plan to do the Princess next year.  Looking forward to hearing about it.

Well, I'm still trying to finish losing that weight.  I had a goal of it being gone by my 40th birthday (two weeks ago), but failed miserably.  I don't know what my body wants as a goal weight, but I'd like to lose 20 pounds.  Unfortunately I've gained 10 pounds back while training for this race (so I was only 10 pounds away in Novemeber!).  I'm sure it's mostly my fault:  "I'm running hard - I can eat that ice cream!"  Maybe that's not the best weight loss plan....   :)

Well, I booked POP tonight. I hope we like it!! And I booked our one ADR that we have planned. It's my younger daughter's 6th birthday that Saturday, so I let her pick dinner. She wanted 1900, but that wasn't available, so we're going with her second choice of Cape May Cafe, which I have really enjoyed every time, so I'm looking forward to that! Thanks for your input, guys!

First of all, how exciting To be running the princess 1/2 marathon! My cousin is running this year too and I can't wait to hear about it!

On to the rooms...we have stayed at ASMo, AoA (same layout as POP), and CBR. Unless you plan on swimming a lot, I don't think CBR is worth it. The rooms are slightly larger with a few more drawers for unpacking but the beds are the same size and you still won't have a microwave (although you will have a coffee pot.) If you guys are planning on driving to/from the parks I would think either value would be ok. Will you use Disney busses? POP will have its own buuuuut the room may be further from the food court, we had to walk almost 20 minutes to get to the food court at AoA (but Anthony is only 2 and we don't use a stroller in the resort....) also, whichever you decide I would request a room close to parking or you may wind up walking 10 min to the car.
