Chapter 11 - Last day of Magic. . . . . .
Fri, 04-05-2013 - 12:01pm

Friday - No alarm set. . .no ADR for breakfast. Okay, initially we had a breakfast ADR at 1900 PF, but it was really for Candice as she wanted to see Alice in Wonderland. Since Candice and her family didn't come afterall,  I ended up cancelling so the girls could sleep in. And they did.

They both woke up about 10:00 am. Mickie didn't want to get out of bed though, so Maddie and I went up to the Lounge and grabbed some muffins, croissants and drinks for all of us. Maddie ate her's outside watching the animals.

Next, more packing. We really outdid ourselves on shopping this year - and our bags showed it.

After a slow/lazy morning. . .we eventually left and made our way to MK. We had a 4:50 pm reservation for beauty make overs.

One of the Fairy Godmother's in training asked Maddie if this was her first time at BBB, and Maddie counted on her fingers. . .5, this was trip #5 for them. We heard from several other Fairy Godmother's after that, asking if that was really accurate. And as you know, it was. Mickie picked a different updo this time around. . .one that I don't remember in the brochure before. Maddie went for the one she tends to pick the most.

Oh, something I never knew until the Fairy Godmother pointed it out. The hair clips that look like Mickey? When you turn them upside down - they are Cinderella's pumpkin coach. :D So being princesses, that is what they got - coaches, not Mickey heads - in their hair. :)

We had a little time to kill after BBB before our CRT ADRs kicked in. So we went and did the picture at the sword in the stone.

And then we went in to watch PhilharMagic.

Next up - CRT. Cinderella was great. She asked Mickie if she had been over to see the Fairy Godmother before coming to dine with her. Mickie said yes. . and Cinderella asked "Did she shock you?" as she patted her hair spikes.

She really was a perfect Cinderella. This is where Maddie started to ask me how she is here and over at 1900 PF, and even on the cruise ships. I told her this is why I'm on the computer working on vacations so much - I'm checking everyone's schedules out to see when they'll be here before I make the reservations. I don't have much longer do I?

Once inside to dine - we saw all the usual characters. Sadly, my camera died. So these are not great as they are my cell, and bad lighting.

The something special happened. Jasmine came out. Back in 2010 Mickie dressed up as Jasmine and we made reservations at CRT as she was dying to see her. But she wasn't there. Mickie cried her eyes out. Belle came over to ask Mickie why she was crying, and Mickie told her she wanted to see Jasmine, and show her that she dressed up like her. Well, Belle helped Mickie write a note to Jasmine and promised to take it to her later, as she was taking her for a ride on the magic carpet. We have not bumped into Jasmine since. . .so the last time Mickie saw her was 2009. . . .and she was beyond excited.

So how did this all play out? In perfect Disney magic style. Mickie teared up, told Jasmine she had been looking for her, but had not seen her in so many years. Jasmine responded with "Oh my, I'm so happy to see you. Look how much you've grown, my, you were only this tall the last time we met" and she held her hand out about a foot below where she stands now. Mickie nodded with tears in her eyes. Mickie then told her about the note & Belle, etc. And Jasmine told her that she still has the note in her room, as it was so special to her and she was glad to finally tell Mickie thank you. Mickie had a big old ear to ear smile on that one. Well done Jasmine, well done. Mickie has gushed this story to a few people since we've been home.

After CRT we just headed out of the park. And then to bed. ME was picking us up at 5:00 am in the morning, and I was advised to be in line at 4:45 am if I wanted to check in at the resort.

Saturday -
I got up at 3:00 am. I showered, rechecked the room & safe to make sure we didn't forget anything. I got the girls up at 4:00 am, and then called down to the bellman at 4:30 am. The bellman was a nice guy with twin girls.. . like John and I, he appeared to have started his family late in life. Very nice man. . . He put my bags right up next to the check in podium, and told me to make sure I was first since my timing was cut so close. So I did. I checked in, got my boarding pass - they took my luggage and I was outside by 5:10 am. .. and there was no bus there yet. LOL

We picked up at a couple of other resorts, and were at the airport by 6:30 am. Our flight was at 8:00. The girls were hungry, so I found a McDonalds. . .I felt bad as I got them something small as they usually like to buy the meal boxes on the plane. ...well, we don't usually fly Southwest, so I didn't know you couldn't buy meal boxes on their planes. LOL. .. I also didn't know they do not have TVs on their planes. Thankfully the girls had their Leappads, I was tired and so slept.

Once home we found John, and had him drive us straight to lunch. :) I know I said this last year - and yet I still booked a long trip this year, but 10 days is just too long for us.

Oh I teared up reading about your encounter with Jasmine, what a perfect ending to your trip! I am sad your report is over. I am feeling Disney nostalgic lately as I plan other little trips for the summer rather than Disney and your girls experience really made me smile! Thank you for sharing I with us!

Yes, thanks so much for sharing!  I can't believe you were there 10 days!  I think that I'd be in heaven Smile  I could really relax and take your attitude of touring lol!

I love the Jasmine story!  Talk about pixie dust Smile  I'm sad now that there's nothing left to read about Frown

The Jasmine story made me tear up, too - how perfectly sweet of her! You know, I don't think my kids have ever believed in characters or Santa (well, maybe Allison) or anything. They know it's "just someone dressed up", but they're still happy to meet them! What an awesome trip! 10 days is long, but it gave you a lot of time to relax at least. Glad you had fun with your girls!!

Loved reading about your trip! I had gotten a little behind and had to catch up, lol! Sounds like a great ending, and I love that they are still so into the characters. I usually wish we could make our trips longer, but at the same time I can see how it would get to be too much. Can't wait to hear about more adventures in the future!
