Check the hotels section at www.mousesavers.com. They have a nice list of preferred non-Disney resort hotels, and specials will be listed.

As long as you're planning on a day at Downtown Disney, how about a resort nearby? We've stayed at a few. There is shared transportation to the parks that was nice enough, and often times there are free breakfast deals.

The Doubletree DTD is nice and should have enough room. It also has a small kitchenette. Only one bathroom though. We did get a very nice, daily free breakfast there in the past using a coupon code found at mousesavers.com.

For my daughter's cheer competition at Universal, this is what one mom sent to me.
