? about booking/changing reservations

Hello ladies! I have a question about changing reservations for the trip itself. I know I have my ticker set up but I haven't actually made the reservations yet. The situation is this:

DH (Mark) is in Afghanistan and is scheduled to come home March 8th (a little over a year after he left here). They get to take up to 30 days vacation when they come back. We both want to go to DW and I am 99% sure that March 31- April 7th will work. I picked that time because it "should" be 3 weeks after he gets home. So even if he is delayed a week or so the time frame should be perfect.

Okay.....the question. If I go ahead and book it now what if he isn't back yet? What is the policy on changing dates, etc? Is it 45 days prior or something? I know that it would make it a lot harder to get any ADR's for dinner/breakfast too if I had to change later on too.

I think I am going to finalize my schedule today and go ahead and call tomorrow to book the trip. If anyone has any advice about that I would truly appreciate it.

DH has not had one day off in over 8 months and works 16-20 hour days over there. I just want to be sure that he has a fabulous time. He was SOOOO sad that he didn't get to go with us in September. I went with his parents, brother and SIL, nephew, and 2 nieces to celebrate his Dad's 65th bday. It was at DW when I'd talk to him on the phone that I decided I would take him after he came home. I "tried" to keep it a secret but that lasted 2 weeks ( I stink at secrets, lol).

It will be just the two of us so also if anyone has any ideas of anything special to do for adults only that would be wonderful.

I am planning on booking the 7 nights at the Pop Century, Park Hopper, Dining Plan, Water Parks n more and renting a car (DH really wants too). I found a good deal there so no biggie.

I would also like to say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE this board. You all get me so motivated and excited to go back to Disney. I was just there 2 months ago (had an AWFUL time with the in-laws) and from the day that I got home all I have looked forward to was going with Mark.

THANK YOU!!!

Hi i don't know the anwer to all of your questions but i can answer afew you can change reservations i believe up to aobut a week i think, also if your husband is in the military you might want to look into shades of green hotel i thinkthat is the name. awesome discount for military i would love to stay there, but we do not qualify. check it out. i would make the reservations and go from there. adult things we hqve done are going to pleasure island and also the boardwalk is fun. it is so romantic during firework times. epcot is great for adults too. good luck planning littlebitt oh when youbook your rooms call and talk and confirm how long you have to cancel see you'll be all set

If you book a package, you have to cancel 45 days out to get a full refund. Room only reservation I believe is 6-7 days out. However, if something comes up, you may be able to call and modify your reservation by changing it, and I don't think they charge a penalty for that, but I'm not 100% sure.

Sonya will know for sure when she sees this post.

With packages the final payment is due 45 days in advance. You can make changes or cancel before that with no problems and get whatever you've paid back. Between 45 and 6 days you can cancel and will lose $100 of your deposit. If you make changes that result in your package costing more you pay the difference at that time, if your changes are a resort change that costs less there is a $10 processing fee for the new paperwork. Same applies for the 5-1 day time frame but you lose $200.
