Mickey's Not so Scarey Halloween Party is a hard ticket event held at the MK. You pre purchase your tickets and the park willclose early on the nights of the party (around 6 Ithink) and you exchange your ticket for a wristband at guest services. If you have already exchanged your ticket you can stay in the park in designated areas or make PS for that time period when the park is closed. It opens back up around 7 for the party and closes again after midnight. I've been to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party but have never been fortunate enough to go for MNSSHP. All my info is from trip reports and deb's site. Deb's site has some great info in it. http://www.wdwig.com/mnssh.htm

I was there for the party last year and I was VERY dissapointed. First, I thought it is expensive (I can't remember how much, but it was a lot.) Second. It was geat for 2 hours -- between when it opened and about 8:30. Then, it was MOBBED. I have never seen so many people before in my life. Not all the restaurants were opened and we had a hard time finding something to eat. We eneded up eating right around 9:15 and, of course, that was during the fireworks. So, we missed them. Then, we left.

On an upnote. We did see Cinderella and got some great pictures with her. And, Snow White was out and the 7 dwarfs. But, really, if you were not there when they arrived, the line was LONG.

I was very glad I didn't use a 'regular' park day ticket AND pay for the Halloween party. I used the afternoon to go to Downtown Disney and also to have breakfast at Chef Mickeys.

Sandra what day did you go? I was reading the reviews on Mousesavers and any of them from the party on or immediatly surrounding Halloween pretty much match your reveiw. But the ones from Nov 1 and early Oct have great reveiws. I know when we went to MVMCP in 2000 we were extremly suprised by how many people were there when the tickets are *limited*. That and it seemed like aboslutly everyone who was there decided to watch the first parade so main street was a mad house. So my advice to anyone going to MVMCP has always been to skip the first parade since everyone else is watching it, and go do the rides, watch the fireworks and the second parade. and don't put too much faith in your free family photo! lol some come out nice but you're pretty much herded through like cattle. DD was asleep by our turn. LOL

Gees, Elaine, we're going in Oct this year too and I was so hoping to go and looking forward to it. Now, I'm not so sure. Maybe, like Sonya said, we'll go on a day we do some non-park stuff. Maybe not....We're going with in laws and sil and her family....I really won't suggest everyone go if there's a chance it's really crowded and not what they expect...

oh well...Betsy
