Almost packing -- 2 weeks to go!

Hey everyone!

I can hardly believe it but we are two weeks away from our trip to WDW. And, of course, I'm starting to panic about what I have/don't have, need/don't need. I'm now making lists of my lists, if you know what I mean. Here's one question. We are traveling with my DS -- age 4.5 He's not a confident swimmer but likes the water. We are staying at POR. Any advice or info on pools there? I'm wondering if there is plenty of shallow space for him to play around in. I panicked wondering if we need to somehow bring some kind of floatation device and then wondered if they even allow those and then wondered how we'd fit it in without packing too much stuff...you know the drill. Any help or guidance from the BTDT's on the board would be great.

Oh my gosh -- did I tell you -- the trip is 2 weeks away. 2 weeks. I'm just in shock. "Good shock", but shock nevertheless.

Thanks. --Caryelou

2 weeks? WOW! I am still months away and worried about what to pack! I'd like to extend this question to not only your resort but to the water parks as well. Is there life jackets etc. provided? Best of luck to you, hope to read your trip review when you get back!

I have recently stayed at POFQ and VWL, both resorts offered swim vests that the little ones could borrow. The vests probably ranged in sizes for a 2 year old to a 10 year old. Both of my kids used them on and off, but they definitely used them to go down the slides.

The water parks do have life vests you can rent for a small fee. Sorry, can't remember the cost. We've always stayed at Old Key West and I know they have life vests to borrow.

My youngest son is 4.5 and we pack his water wings. He loves to use them because he can float and "swim" in the water like his older siblings. They're nice because they are flat until you blow them up, making them easy to travel with.

I hope you have a WONDERFUL trip!!
