Am I alone in thinking.........

I'm the only one completely stressed out the week before the actual trip. Planning and packing are way harder than I thought! To top it off, two of my three kids are sick right now. My other daughter and I already had it, and now all that's left is dh. He might as well get it now before we get there! There is just so much to do! I am a procrastinater so leave it to me to wait until the last minute to get it all done! I'm not a night owl at all, but I'm going to try to stay up tonight and get most of it done. I am supposed to work tomorrow, but with sick kids, who knows. Anyone else get really stressed right before the trip?

i leave a week from today and am also stressed re the packing!! i have a 2.5yr old and an almost 8 mo old. so i have to pack lots of diapers, swim dipes, baby food, wipes, bottles, sippies, formula, swimmies, hats, strollers, etc plus a full complement of clothes, anticipating lots of spills and other things that will require frequent wardrobe changes. i am trying to "pack light" so that we have room in our suitcases to put stuff i know we are going to buy down there.. but it is getting really hard to pare everything down and only pack "essentials". i have to pack cute dresses for the girls for their meals w/ cinderella, pooh & friends, mickey, etc!! and then fun play clothes,, plus for us..
i guess i just am not capable of packing light despite my best intentions!
Nope-I too was a wreck.
Trip planning and packing is always stressful. Our last trip with a 2 year old and 6 year old began right after a birthday party at school, a party at home, and a week before Christmas ( coming home Christmas Eve ). I was tired and busy, but my best advice is to take time and make a list. Sit in the chair with a nice drink and picture your regular day with all the things that your kids need how many diapers per day, what baby foods and snacks. Create a quick calendar on paper with where you are going each day, what meals you have planned and write down any specific clothing for that day. Pick one room in your house, pull out the bags and suitcases and begin pulling things together by day. ( Ex. one playoutfit, one nice dinner outfit, socks, shoes, # diapers, food for that day, and then things such as toothbrushes, diaper cream, shampoo, etc ) Check your list off as you place the items in the bags.
I made an attempt to pack by day making nice stacks, count the stacks check them off and put it in the bag. Then just check off the toiletries, camera, battery charger, emergency medicines, and extra snacks. As far as extra clothes, remember that the resorts do have a laundry room in case you run short. This could easily be tackled during a nap time, plus you will save space for the extras you buy. It was often nice each morning to take out a full set of clothes for the day in one nice stack ( or for young childrens clothing use storage bags and package by day )
Have a great time !!
I'm with you, we're leaving tonight, and I've been crazy all week. It seems like there isn't enough time to get everything done, and nothing goes right. I know it will all be ok in the end, but it's stressful getting there!
