2007 trip report

Thursday- This is my official Trip report. Jason and I decided that if we left right when he got home from work then we would problebly hit the least amount of traffic in New York. So that’s what we did. We were in the car and pulling out of the garage at 3am. The kids were all nestled into their seats. Austin was asleep as soon as we were 5 minutes into the trip, but Justin stayed awake to talk to me, Jason took a 4 hour nap. I was soooo excited to get out of the Cold North east that I was pumped up and ready to go! So I drove the first streatch. We didn’t stop until we hit the Vince Lombari Rest area. I brought Austin inside to get changed and to stretch his little legs,. Justin refused to get out because it was too cold! So we headed back out and stopped somewhere in New Jersey at a Cracker Barrel for Breakfast. It was minus 2 degrees when we left Hillsboro, so we could wait to feel the Temperature change. Austin did an awesome job, I thought for sure he would Scream the whole way down, he didn’t cry once. We stopped for the night in Dunn North Carolina and had our dinner at another Cracker Barrel.

Friday- Austin Had another great day. No crying at all. We hit some BAD traffic in Orlando. When we got to the hotel around 5:30pm, we had our dinner in the food court and Justin played in the kiddie play area which had an interactive Water fountain. He had a blast! Good way to run off all that pent up energy he had from the long ride. Jason and Justin went to Disney Quest that night and I stayed at the room with Austin. Him and I took a little walk around the resort. It was soooo nice out. Like 80 degrees!

Saturday- Today we went to MGM Studios. The park opened an hour early that day for the Extra hours. So we were there nice and early. Jason tried to take Justin on the star tours ride but Justin did NOT want to go on. So we went on the Great Movie ride, which we had never been on before. I had to carry Justin into there and not tell it was a ride or he would have freaked out. he didn’t like that ride too much but I thought it was cool. We did the Backlots tours which will always be the same, but we do it anyways. Austin fell asleep in the stroller so Jason and Justin went into the Light Motors Actions show. I waited outside with Austin while he napped, I poked around in a gift shop and then the Power Rangers came. So just in case Justin didn’t get a chance to see them, I got the Red Rangers autograph and Austin and I posed for a picture with him. We headed back to the hotel so Austin could take a nap. So I took Justin to the Kiddie pool and then I walked him around the hotel so he could see the rest of it. He just wanted his picture taken with the pac-man things on the walls. Then he played twister with a bunch of other kids. We had dinner reservations at Le-Cellier in Canada at Epcot. Epcot is so pretty at night time. Every thing is lite up. The restaurant was ok. But it was so late that Justin fell asleep while eating. Austin was happy though. He was little Mr. Go lucky.

Sunday- Animal Kingdom was our destination today! I love the animal Kingdom. Its so relaxing and soo much to look at. As usual we went on the Safari first before the line got to long. We saw a lot of animals, Justin just wanted to see the pink Flamingos. We went out to Camp Minnie & Mickey and Justin got to meet Pluto and goofy. We walked the exploration trail, which was cut short because Justin had to pee. We took the train to Rafikis planet watch. Justin watched a presentation about pythons and got to meet Jiminy and Rafiki. Austin LOVED Jiminy Cricket. We left the Park and headed to the “boardwalk” resort to have dinner at “spoodles”. which was realllllly good. I think that was the best place we ate. And we got there right when they opened so it wasn’t too crowded. Then we walked a little bit around Downtown Disney. Justin made some Lego guys at the Lego store.

Monday- Today was our MAGIC KINGDOM day! Its by far the funnest park for the kids! We got there right when they opened So we headed right over to Buzz Lightyears space ranger spin. We were going to get a Fastpass but there was NO line, so we got right on. I had to literally DRAG Justin on kicking and screaming, he did NOT want to go on it. But I knew he would love it, so I made him go on it and sure enough he LOVED it. We Went on it again right after wards because there was still no wait. We went over to Alladins carpets and there was no line there either so we went on that one twice too. Austin loved it. Then we went on the Pirates of the Caribbean. We went out to Tom sawyers island, which I had never done before so that was pretty cool. It was all paths and caves and bridges and stuff. Pretty neat. We had lunch at Starlight Rays Café . Jason and Justin went on the Speedway while Austin rested and took a nap. We rode the Transit Authority and then walked over to Fantasyland. Justin and Austin played at Poohs Thoughtful Spot while Jason got fast passes for Winnie the Pooh. They had fun and it was a good chance for them to play and unwind. We rode the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. Austin really liked that one too. Justin got to meet Chip and Dale and then we went back to the Hotel and went in the pool for a little bit. We had dinner at planet Hollywood that night and walked around downtown Disney.

Tuesday- Epcot is one of my favorite parks. Its relaxing, and I just LOVE walking around all the countries. We went and got our Fastpass for Soarin’ first thing and good thing because it was all done with fast passes by 2pm. We went on the “energy ride” Justin REALLLY liked the energy ride. He says that that was his favorite ride. We went into Innovations where Jason and Justin played a game and made a robot. They got to meet Mickey and Minnie with Noline to meet them, this was at the Character Connection. We had lunch in America and then went to Norway and went on the Maelstrom, I had never been on this ride before. It was cool, Justin said it was OK, but the troll scared him. We went out to the living seas and went on the nemo ride, both boys really enjoyed that one. I found a nice spot to rest and wait for Jason to get back from Soarin’. Justin had fun playing in the water fountains and he got to meet Figment. Then when Jason got back I went on soarin’ too. That ride was REALLY cool. We went up in spaceship earth and then had our dinner reservations at the Garden Grill. It was a character dinner. Mickey, Pluto , chip and dale, were all walking around and I got some really cute pictures and Austin LOVED the characters. On the way out of the “land” we went on the boat ride “living with the land” Justin could see the ride from the restaurant so he really wanted to go on it. After dinner we had time, so we decided to go back to the Magic Kingdom one last time. We took the Monorail over and when we got there we went on “it’s a small world” and the Carousel.

Wednesday- Today was our last day L We got up early and went to MGM. Jason finally persuaded Justin to go on the Star Tours ride with him,. But after the ride, Justin was too afraid to have his picture taken with darth vader and the storm trooper. I really wish I had at least gotten Jason’s picture with them. There’s always next time right? Then we Headed over to the animal Kingdom. We got a fast pass for the dinosaur ride and then got ice cream. While we took turns going on Dinosaur Justin and Austin played in the “bone yard” he had a lot of fun in there. Then we walked threw the Oasis on the way out. Then we went over to Epcot. We had Lunch in the Land and then walked around the countries. Justin made a mask and decorated it in each country. We went back to the hotel and had dinner And then went back to downtown Disney one last time. It was a GREAT vacation and Justin was soooooo good. We will be going back in 2 years!

Thursday- We left the Hotel around 9am. We stopped at south of the border right after Justin lost his first tooth! I took some pics of him with the big statues. It was a nice little break. We stopped for the night in Stoney Creek Va at 10pm.

Friday- We left the hotel at 4:30 am. We made good time until we hit new jersey and we hit that BIG storm. We made it into Connecticut a little bit and then stopped for the night.

Saturday- we left the hotel at 9am and had a good ride home!!

4th Trip!! Wow! Lucky guy! You had one heck of a drive, but it sounds like it went well. It took me three times to read it all, kids are a bit wound up today. But it was worth reading!! Thanks for the trip report, it's nice to hear how much people can get done and not sounds too stressed out. I was wondering, was Justin scared on the star wars trip? is that why he didn't have his picture taken? My Nick is 8, I hope it's not too scary, it was one he picked for his fav!
