Any NOT do Fantasmic?

Has anyone not done Fantasmic while at MGM? My DDs will be 3 (will turn 4 while we're there) and 5 1/2. It seems like I've read a lot about the waiting... waiting for the tickets, getting in early to get a seat, etc... I'm just not sure they will be up for all that waiting... and the show is at 8 that night...we are on the dining plan and don't want to use 2 credits, as we're using 2 for the castle....Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!!

TIA!

Well this is our first trip, so I can't comment on not doing it - as we do have it scheduled to do.

JMO - but it is absolutely 100% worth all of the waiting, even for the little ones. That show is an absolute must-see for our family, in fact I would see it over illuminations in a heartbeat. The live characters onstage and on the boats, the projection of images onto water sprays, it's soooo cool!

I've started thinking about doing the Fantasmic Dinner Package at Mama Melrose's - 1 dining plan credit... WDYT? The travel agent is suggesting 50s Prime Time for lunch, but that just doesn't appeal to me for some reason...

My family just eats on the run at Disney, so I can't comment on the dining portion of your question....but don't miss Fantasmic! It is by far my favorite part of our trip, watching that show. My kids love it.

I don't know what time of year you'll be at WDW, but in December it's not much of a wait at all. It's pretty much walk right in and see the show. If I were going in a more busy time, I think I'd push DH to do a Fantasmic dinner package, to make things more enjoyable overall.

We never have. We've been 5 times since they started Fantasmic! but have never gone.

We saw the whole thing on youtube, and I KNOW it's not the same as seeing it in person, but even now at 10, Aly doesn't want to see it (she doesn't care for villains).

Want some advice from someone who actually works there? LOL

I just saw it for the first time the other day and I have to say, I loved it! However, the view wasn't that great. We ended up sitting on the far left side, and while we got to see alot of the show, it would have been alot better being in the middle of the stadium. So, if you do go see it, go early enough to get the good seats.

Some recommendations though:

Grab drinks and snacks before you head up into the theater. You can get stuff in there, but the lines tend to be extremely long. I waited 45min in the refreshment line and almost missed the beginning of the show. So, you can get your hotdogs, burgers or whatever before going in, then eating in the stands.

I have to say, it is worth the wait.

We saw it at Disneyland- where many who have seen both say it is better, and were not impressed.

Thanks for everyone's input. I think we will try to do it - any advice on dinner? Mama Melrose's on the dining plan? Oh- we're going in Oct, but we're not planning on doing MNNSHP...
