at Fort Wilderness? The cast members on the phone say that it is really nice. I have never stayed there. I am planning a Grand Gathering in February. My 2 brothers and their family are coming down from Minnesota.

I have stayed at many different resorts through the years, and I can't think of a better place for a family gathering than the cabins! It will be incredibly fun to hang out on the decks, on the walking trails, etc. Sounds wonderful! Did you book cabins all in the same loop?

There is one bedroom with a door that has a double bed and bunk beds. The main area has a double bed that pulls down from the wall. So....basically 2 rooms. I remember a TV in the main room, but honestly cannot remember if there was a second one in the bedroom. We never stick around the room very much, so there is very little TV time during our trip! Someone here will know, I'm sure.

Google "Ft. wilderness cabin pictures", and you will find a ton. I did that before we stayed in the cabins last year.

We ate in the castle for breakfast once, going into the park before opening. It was cool! I enjoyed it an awful lot. I'd be interested in trying that again, except my kids didn't really eat anything, and they are still too picky. :(

I found the site I really liked last year:

http://home.hiwaay.net/~jlspence/faq_fw.htm

About a third of the way down the page, there is a link to click for FW Photo Gallery.

It jogged my memory into remembering a TV on a stand in the bedroom (although I couldn't find a photo).....but I remember watching the weather on that TV one day. :)

Lots of good cabin info on this site if you poke around. It was helpful to me beforehand.

The cabins are 'home' to my family when we make our annual trips. We LOVE them. We stayed at the Contemporary in a tower room w/ a MK view on one of our trips and as we're checking out my oldest (then 6 and totally into princesses) said "I liked this room but promise me next year when we come back we will stay at the cabins!"

We stayed in the cabins back in June 2002. We really liked them. We did not have a car, and did not rent a golf cart. We relied solely on the campground bus system and did just fine! I especially liked taking the boat to the MK...

The cabins were really nice and comfortable. There is one bedroom with a double bed and bunkbeds. I don't remember there being a t.v. in the bedroom. There was only one bathroom, but it was quite large from what I remember. The kitchen and living area were all in one, and there was a murphy bed in the living area. The kitchen was full, with full sized appliances and cooking utensils. Mousekeeping loaded and ran the dishwasher for us!

We'd consider staying there again sometime. Lately, though, we've been getting two rooms in a value because we like having an extra bathroom.

We stayed there last year. There were six of us. It was wonderful having a kitchen right on hand. We were on a stricter budget and it was nice to bring food in with us. We were lucky enough to be put in loop one. Boy did we get spoiled there! We had people stopping by asking us how we were able to stay there. Anyway, I will try and dig up some pictures for you if you would like. I know I have them somewhere. Let me know if you are interested.

:-)) I made mental note of what was in the LR last year because previously it had only been a VCR, which we don't have at home. Ours died and we replaced all of our (almost) VHS's with DVDs. The cabin we were in last year had a DVD/VCR combo. Didn't matter we had our laptop, but still - oh and last years cabin had the second TV in the bedroom but the one before did not.

Yeah - I don't want to hear you complain about being robbed! lol

Sonya,

When dh mentions going back to FW, I always remind him. I will only go back if we stay in the 100 loop. Probably won't happen again!
