Mind if I piggyback on your question???

WOW washer dryer in your room?! I would go VERY light then...like 3-4 changes per person, and plan on doing a load every 2-3 days (if you can turn on the washer at night before going to bed and the noise won't bother you...then transfer that load in the morning to the dryer before you leave to the parks). As long as you have ONE change of clothes per person that's not part of that first load, you're set! Right?

We are going for 10 days too (counting travel days though) BUT we'll be at ASMusic so only laundry opportunity will be during our "off" day while swimming...which is not something I'm familiar with doing (will I have to wait for a machine? will it be a pain in the neck? how long will it take?) so I'm tempted to take the 10 days' worth...on the other hand when I think that's at LEAST 30 Tshirts for just the 3 of us...I'll probably go with at least 6 per person and then I'll HAVE to do it!!?

I'd love to hear what everyone else thinks??

For my DD, I would probably still pack 8-10 outfits since I never know what kind of mood she will be in or what she will decide to wear. For my boys, 6-8 outfits.

My crew can go through 2-3 outfits per day though. We can come back to the hotel mid day, shower and change clothes for the evening, etc. Not to mention spills and accidents. So I wouldn't want to force myself to have to go do laundry too soon if I didn't want to.

Wow...you're lucky to have a washer/dryer right in your room! If I were you, I would probably just pack 4-5 outfits for everyone. That way you've got some options for changing if you take a mid-afternoon shower before heading out for the night, and you can throw in a load every few days.

Happy Packing!

Using the on-site laundry facility can sometimes be a pain. We usually go down for 10 days and stay at the value resorts, so I have some experience doing laundry on our off day as well. You usually have to wait for machines...especially dryers. Most people are pretty friendly about sharing, but it's still an all-afternoon process - figure an hour plus per load. If you're really, really lucky you'll land multiple machines and can run all your loads at once.

For our trip next month, I'll pack about 8 outfits for everyone and enough socks and undies for the entire stay. I think I'll end up doing about 3 loads of laundry on our off day. I take my own dryer sheets and powdered detergent, too - the ones in the vending machine are kind of pricey.

Hope this helps!

If your laudry detergent is a liquid, keep it in your checked luggage (use tupperware AND a huge ziploc baggie in case of spills).

That is so funny, I also picked out special outfits for the kids at our Ohana breakfast.
