Hi there! Congrats on scheduling your trip. :)

First of all....I assume by "Disney" you mean Magic Kingdom park. When we make our trip, we spend the bulk of our time between this park and Epcot. Last week, we did 2.5 days at Magic Kingdom and 2 full days at Epcot....and we didn't do it all. I think both of these parks are wonderful for a 5.5 year old AND a 9 year old!

My family stayed in a suite at the All Star Music resort last week and loved it. I want to say it was $179 per night during value season (which is when you'll be visiting, so there is a significant room discount vs. peak times)....or somewhere close. I was trying to stay under $200 per night. I loved that my husband and I had a separate room from the kids and that we had 2 bathrooms. We'll definitely choose these suites again in the future. Like you, we spend very little time in the room, but I wanted everyone to be comfortable and sleep well.

From Disney.com, regarding ticket prices:

Go ahead and plug in your info, act like you're going to check out. You'll get a family total. I know ticket prices are increasing again in January 2007....hopefully the site is already accounting for that. You will find different prices for single day (stay in the same park for a day) tickets vs. park hoppers (switch between parks if you want to do half days). The park hoppers are more. Just depends on what you want to do. My family does not hop.....we've never had a need for the extra expense. However, we have 7-8 days at the parks and have no trouble getting to them all at some point.

I can't help with Sea World or Universal.....my family never ventures outside the 4 WDW parks.

It sounds like you'll have a great time!

All the Disney Value resorts are nice and give you the extra benefits of staying "on-site."
