Hi,

We just got back from 3 days at this newer part of the DisneyWorld resort hotels,Bay Lake Towers, and really enjoyed it! We are Disney Vacation members ( my dh had this when we married, we continue to keep it). As 2 adults, we really enjoyed this resort.; we had a one bedroom unit, with full kitchen, and it is like a good sized apartment, with 2 Full bathrooms. If you book here, ask for a room on the higher floors, away from the elevators, at the time of your booking. If you do the non bay side, you will be able to see the wonderful nightly fireworks at 10pm, perfectly. if you get a room on the bay side, you will have a balcony, and be able to see the water/light parade, that starts right after the big fireworks. This resort also has the monorail running through the Contemporary, next door, so getting to and from DW is so easy. Nice pool too!

This is one of the few resorts we have been to, that have a special area Just for DVC Members...a bar on the top,16th floor, where you can get a drink or snack, and watch the fireworks. The food and drinks are pricey, but good. Disney does not spend money on good mattresses, which has been to our dismay, and some of the DW Resorts are showing quite a bit of wear on the carpets, etc., but not Bay Lake Towers. To be honest, this was a great vacation club when the kids were smaller, but now that the youngest is 19, not so much. Better to join RCI, as they share with Disney resorts, and they have many more destinations for using your points. Often, RCI has no rooms for us as DVC members, even though I called this year at the very moment the sharing venue opened...and yet there was nothing available..disappointing!

They do check your backpacks when you enter the Parks, but I did take in some small snacks in small ziplocs. I eat healthy, and that's hard at a theme park..so I brought lowfat crackers, dried fruit, etc. I think if you keep it reasonable, you are fine..I also chose to let a young man check my bag., when going through the security bag check line..less likely to be So worried about a few dried cranberries!

Also, if you have a car, go to any local WalMart...same souveniers they sell at the park, for lots less! My kids were fine with waiting to shop there,as they saved money for items, and we added to it, as a surprise, once in Orlando..and they could get so much more for their money at WalMart! :)

Mic...ke.yyyyy..have fun!!

It sounds like a great place to stay!  Are they usually strict about not allowing food into the parks?  I always brought in a few granola bars in my backpack.
