Board Walk and DTD/DQ questions

Reposting this for everyone else, sorry for the inconvenience :)
Trying to time these two "park breaks" so as to make sure one is not "dead" (in terms of entertainment - I know the crowds will be there!) and to avoid crowds in the other!
DH DS9 and I will be at MGM on Thursday August 9th. We *think* we don't want to do Fantasmic (did it one time before and didn't love it), and instead go for a stroll on the BoardWalk (this is for nostalgic reasons since we had a romantic time there in 2000!), then head back to the resort for maybe a swim and bed. Now the question is this: Is the Board Walk "alive" on a Thursday, you think? We'd love to take DS9 to the magician, juggler, etc...you know, the fun atmosphere ...but we don't want him to be disappointed by leaving the "cool" MGM just for the boat ride there and then a walk around (maybe surrey bike rental) and then back to the MGM just to take the bus back to the resort...kwim? We do have another two optional evenings for Board Walk, on our respective Epcot days...but Epcot is by far DHs and my favorite park and we'd hate to take time away from the World Showcase just for the Board Walk (as others have already advised here). Also, those two Epcot/potential Boardwalk evenings are on on a Sunday and Wednesday which I've heard the BW is pretty dead...so MGM/Thursday might be out best bet...unless that's also no good, then MAYBE I could change my Epcot/Boardwalk day to a Saturday!) What do you all think??
Then as for DTD/DQ...if we plan to go there just as it opens on a morning, do you think the day of the week would make a difference in order to avoid crowds (it's either Sunday or Wednesday for us, either near the middle or end of the trip, morning either way!) TIA!!

Oh dear, see, we have NO "no-park" days, other than MAYBE arrival/departure days...since the tickets at or after about 7 days are barely a couple dollars more for each day, we're spreading out our time at the parks, and that means most mornings are booked! (It may sound nuts, but we're mostly morning people anyway, and we've spread out our late nights, and we are not planning on ALL rope drops, just most...some others we'll be arriving just in time for a ride or two before an early lunch).
Can anyone else help me with the specific days of the week for either BW (for more entertainment) or DQ (for fewer crowds), if it makes a difference at all which days we go there (well, evening to BW, morning to DQ)? TIA
