Bonus Disney vacation

My work has given us a Bonus Incentive trip to Orlando. Just found out our whole division + one guest. We are staying at the Marriot 3/21-24. I am dying to bring my kids but I have meetings and can't be free until 3/24. So plan is DH and 3 kids will fly out for a mini vacation from the 24th to the 27th (workaholic hubby can't take off more, and kids have school).

Well dilemma is anyway I turn it around the this mini bonus vacation for my family of 5 will cost between 3 to 3.5K. More than our budget was planning. I so think there must be a way. The MK, Epcot and AK is all I'm interested in. With all considered if I stay at a Disney Resort with the moderate rate + dinners package and flights from Philly this is what I come up with. I tried the combo of cheapy hotel 100-130, but it doesn't give us the dinner package and park rates that the resorts do.

Any suggestions for a budget minded mini vacation for 5?

Thanks,

Rainbow

Disney just announced a discounted package with free park hoppers. You would have to stay there and you can add dining or not.

What are the ages of your kids? This would determine what type of resort you could stay in at Disney.

Your trip can be done "cheap", it just takes some planning!

My kids are 10, 7 & 7 (yes twins).

Can you give me the site for this Disney announcement please.

I could use all the help I can get. I don't want to miss out while the kids are still young.

I could go with just the convenience of close to DW and free shuttle service. But if the resort can offer better overall price as far as tickets + meals and air fare, then that would be even better.

I was told that family of 5 instead of 4 causes my options to be limited to Orleans only by AAA. And the flight of $200 is way out there...

I'm putting a fare watch out on Travelocity (from Philly to Orlando). Any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Rainbow

The newly announced package special is for stays beginning April 15 through June 2. You can find the details on Mousesavers.com or ask your travel agent.

The problem that you are running into is that your choices as a family of 5 are limited and that the time you are planning to get away is peak season rates at the resorts. The only time that the rates are higher is the holidays. The rates on your flights are probably higher also because of spring break and the close proximity. your oldest child is also considered an adult price wise, so that ups the price as well. There's really not much right now that will bring the cost down, especially if you want the ammenities of staying onsite. Are you a AAA menber?
